Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Some CSX executives got “annual incentives” on their 2021 reviews

I just found out my peer is getting paid $4K more than I am.

I saw they received a “annual incentive” on their ‘Compensation Summary Statement’ to the tune of an extra $4k.

Although this will make it so much easier not to help them anymore on discretionary favors like… how to use powerBI, the new hiring system and PowerPoint/Excel.

From now on it’s “I’m not sure.” Or “I do-g know.”

Eventhough it's only for this year and it not apart of their base salary I'm still annoyed.

What was all that talk about about everyone getting a flat rate merit increase. That was a lie.

In-store they skipped our 2020 merit increase; the executive team made sure they still got their bonuses for 2019-2020 though.

Best thing is not to know what your coworkers are making, you will get upset or be amazed or both. Macy's can still afford to give out bonuses wow!!! I received PTG as an MTech Analyst but was short lived. You have to provide some incentives I will give them that. Whether or not a company can afford to give it is another story. Higher level Execs always take care of themselves!!

This attitude is most likely why you don't receive the same $ as your colleague. And honestly, if you don't change this attitude, this will keep happening to you wherever you go.

@1tnb+1cWYV4r8, you are super mistaken about "all other executives" getting bonus. CSX do not get the bonus that OVM gets, and now MBA gets it too for Fall results next April. CSX get PTG.

From what I understand, all the other executives get bonuses except for the MBAs. We just became eligible and should get something in 2022. I am an MBA and we do NOT have access to anything executive. So the CSX either shared it thinking peer executives received it also or they left their paystub in view. I can tell you how happy I was when my peers were dancing in excitement as they celebrated their bonuses. At the same time I was crushed because I only received $450 for PTG & I worked just as hard, if not harder than a couple who received 4K plus in bonuses. I’m upset writing this. It was a stab in my heart and morale. So sadly we had the same thoughts. Why am I going to bend over backwards helping lazy people who literally do absolutely nothing while I’m expected to act as a CSX. One gets tired of it. So I totally understand the feeling.

Some jobs get the annual incentive, some get Path To Growth. If you have the EXACT same job as the person getting the Annual, I'd ask about it. But if there's any difference in the job title, there's a reason that person gets annual versus you getting PTG. And I would also ask why you were looking at someone else's compensation? Did that person share it with you or did you find something that was none of your business to see?

Why were you looking at your peer’s Compensation Summary Statement? Is that something you should have access to? The bonus probably has nothing to do with any of the things you’ve assisted them … as a good colleague would for their teammate. But go ahead and be spiteful and resentful … don’t help anyone, except those beneath you … and keep all your knowledge to yourself, except in front of your STM. That will surely get you the bonus next time.
