Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Onward team, toward a brighter tomorrow!

We need to come together as a team to lookout for each of our sites to better our own personal financial situations. I'm not suggesting we try and form a union or go on strike. I understand some people view unions as a bad thing, and striking is scary. A lot of people are too afraid to commit to that, and rightfully so, that's a huge commitment. However, the only power we actually have is our collective size. That's the only chip we have at this corporate poker game. That's it. We should all review bo-b the glint surveys; everyone should put in exactly enough work to complete your tasks and nothing more.

I get it, fu-k you got mine mentality. I understand that. But, we're going to keep getting bent over a barrel while TC and all the upper echelon treat us like little sows that they can milk to prop the stock up prices up while they keep dumping hot loads on our faces. You have to be willfully ignorant to believe the uppers give a single solitary fu-k about anyone one of us. And they shouldn't; it's their job to make money for the stock holders. That is it. Our safety only matters to the extent that they can't get sued or cause bad press. Our pay raises are what's been calculated "based on market conditions" to keep us complacent and on site. We are nothing more than cogs for the financial department to turn and move around.

You don't need to commit to anything or risk outing yourself to these people. But, just everyone doing the little things quietly will impact their bottom dollar. They won't know where to look or point to in their books if it comes from everywhere all at once. Just food for thought come glint time.

Garbage-Foundries is a lost cause. Jump ship now before it's too late.

Actually everywhere else pays SIGNIFICANTLY more. Just hunt around. Globalfoundries is the lowest compensation company in our industry. Pay increases of 10-20% elsewhere very are common.

@1teg

The big difference is the execs that bleed the company don’t come on a website and rant about how terrible things are, which has nothing to do with layoffs news and rumors…

Milk it, but be humble about it. The fact is, most aren’t going to get a better paying job, so work, and if things are that bad that requires multiple posts of the same topic, then leave.

@1hpd why leave when the exec team has no idea what their employees actually do. Just stick around, make a slide each week claiming you did something useful. Bleed the company just like the execs are doing but at a much higher pay grade. Do nothing as long as you can and eventually grab a package as a nice going away present. Follow your executives and milk the company dry .......

Or you could just quit and move on, and spare us your layoff posts of drama…

You don’t like it? Leave. Simple.
