Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Many are staying to milk the cow as much as possible

I know many who are just doing the bare minimum to stick around and milk the cow until the end

@2sdd Agreed but there have been very large severance packages for years now. People think or hope it will go on longer. And many people are going to retire so not looking for that next job. Just saying how it is, Intel created this behavior

@1tfu+1rimaN4v Who said anything about not putting in the effort? The comment was why do more than what’s required.

The ones waiting year after year for the "package" are the problem. If they had talent, the salary increases they'd get at their new jobs wouldn't take long to offset any severance package. When things start to go south, don't expect Intel to pay any more in severance than they're legally required to. Intel is very hard up for cash right now

The problem is they incentivize you to wait around for a “package”. Nobody wants to just quit.

@1ne, If Intel is doing bare minimum to retain employees, than you can go and find a job somewhere else if you think you are worth more. But accepting a position, getting paid the agreed amount and not putting the effort to win, thats just disgusting.

what you get is what you pay for. Don’t ask for anymore until you pay more to get it.

Let see the high paid and high ranked filks work like cows while the low pay just milk the dead cows.

Intel has been doing less than the bare minimum to try to retain talents for decades with compensation below peers, pathetic raises for 15+ years, and limited career paths, why should we do "more"?
