@2oo, false logic. You are MR75 eligible because of you hit the age gating criteria, combined with your service. MR75 has nothing to do with pension eligibility rules, which vary by your legacy company when you were hired/promoted.

Bummer, if you got layoff at 53 yr or 54 yr with 24 yr of service. Age + service add up more than 75. But new rule; with those ages, you did not meet yr of service (25). Same thing with 56, 57, etc with 19 yr of service. Again age + service add up more than 75. But service yr did not meet 20 yr.

It has been modified rule of 75 for my entire career. The modified part, you must reach certain age/service levels.
That is what made some of the previous retirement enhanced offers so valuable. The 2+2's and more. It added age and years of service to help you reach those break points and 75.

It use to be years of service and age had to equal 75 then one was pension eligible but they changed it some years back. I believe someone said it changed around 2011? or so. It is now based on a new rule/formula with rule being 50 yrs with 25 yrs of svc, 55 yrs with 20 yrs of svc etc.....I was pretty shocked when I heard it changed as were most. A lot of folks were still not aware of this and with FMP's and outsourcings got a real shock,,,,,They do have some 2 year offer if one gets laid off or outsourced within 2 years of MR75 but for some folks needing more than 2 years was a real bummer.....

I'm 21.5 yrs in, and 57, I can go to Fidelity, check out my pension, and it shows that I'm 100% fully qualified for the pension, which tells me I've reached Rule 75.

Some people think that 75 rule is age and yr of service. Not true all the time. It's 25 yr service and 50 yr or over, 20 and 55, 10 and 65. Any age with 30 yr. Look it up in Fidelity under pension elible. A new employee at 74 yr and work one yr does not quifty pension. He still need 10 yr. Make sense.

If you are 60 years old and you have at least 15 years of service, you qualify for the MR75 rule.
In the past, before the change, it was just the R75 (Rule of 75) where you could met the number 75 with any years of service and any years of age that added up to 75.
But for whatever reason, it was changed to a new set of standards. That's when it became MR75 (Modified Rule of 75). So now you can't just add the numbers up to match 75. It has to meet the new requirements.
Does it $uck? You bet. Big time. But would you expect anything less from an a$$hole, greedy company? Nope.

Always call and talk to a benefits specialist. Take notes - name, date, time and the number you called. Always call back the next day to make sure you get the same answer again. Always get your supervisor and HR generalist to confirm what you’ve been told. Get stuff in writing if possible. Sounds like a lot of work, but well worth it if you get good news like subsidized healthcare for a decade or more! Each business unit has different perks - make sure you know what you’re due! Maybe for older people that have been around a long time. Not sure about craft but the only thing I saw MR75 gets younger management workers are service discounts, and they are not worth much. Especially when you can find better deals on mobility .

You can quit or retire whenever you want and take vested pension benefit after five years service. Call it what you want.

The last five year run-up to your MR75, is a steeper increase in your pension value.

At your MR75 it is then labeled a service pension as opposed to vested pension.

After that, the growth rate moderates.

I agree. As long as you have 75 Points (age and service ) you can retire

Talk to hr about management transition plan in the severance policy. If you can meet the modified 75 within 2years, you get half the severance and eligible benefits when you reach the modified 75 rule. Of course benefits depend on orig hiring co. There are tools on the benefits site to model retirement cost, just use a date beyond your meeting the 55/20 rule.

At this point, don't count on making it if you are anywhere close. #AgeDiscrimination

It’s 50-25, 55-20, 65-10 and Any age-30.

You have these combinations to qualify.

52-23 would not qualify. 52-26 would qualify

As Leg-T craft, I'm 54 with 23 years and NOT eligible yet. It's 50 with 25 or 55 with 20. You must meet both. I'm good to at 55.

MR 75 M stands for modified. There a rules as to the minimum age plus service you must have to qualify. Just adding the two together and getting 75 is NOT a given that you qualify.

The modified rule of 75 is 50 + 25 or 55 + 20. The info is available in the HR docs. You do not qualify.

It is 75 points no matter how you get it I left with 75 points and have full retirement benefits

I believe it is 75 points if you are 52 and 23 years of service you were all set IMO
