Does this mean all other CMs and CCMs will be let go?

I'm not sure I agree with the strategy of trying for that new CPgM role in order to keep a job at Cengage while looking for a new job. Those who get that new CPgM role will be still working on their current projects 70% of the time (at least initially until their CY26 projects publish), while 30% of their time will be encompassing the new role. I can see a messy overlap of new role and old role - struggling to finish up projects on time while getting pulled into the muck and mire of the new role, all while looking for a new job. It's a personal choice of course, but doesn't suit me. Whichever way people in the CM and DPM roles want to manage the reality of their job situation at Cengage, one thing is pretty certain: very few of us will be left standing in the near future. I would guess 7 CpGMs, a handful of DPMs in "consultant" roles and maybe a small group of CMs left to work on especially difficult projects or just to be around "in case." Just a guess.
Let's not forget, the Course Leads are doing work similar to what the CPgMs will be expected to do. The Course Lead roles will be retired in a couple of months.

To answer your question, 55 people were asked to apply for these 7 roles. Crazy !!!

Apparently, the DPM roles will be changed to "consultant" type roles.
What is the ratio? How many total CM+DPM for these 7 roles?
@1spe+1v8DOxYC - if you're a CM/DPM, you could still apply and hopefully keep your job while you look for other opportunities.
Trying to decide if I want to apply for a role whose purpose is to layoff my colleagues....methinks NO.

CMs and DPMs are "invited to apply" for the CPgM positions. In Cengage-speak, this means they can apply to that role and if they get selected, they will have continued employment at Cengage. If they don't get selected, they will be gone, as the CM and DPM positions will be phased out. So basically, all of the CMs and DPMs now get to scramble and complete for those seven jobs.
Four or five months later, those seven will be asked to play the Hunger Games for two positions opened for some other newly invented and ill-defined role. And may the odds be ever in your favor! It's the Cengage way :-(
An email went out yesterday stating that 1 Content Creation Manager and another Content Project Manager were let go.
I heard the 7 roles are for the remaining CMs and DPMs to apply to and 2 more CCMs were let go today. Not sure what that means for the rest of the managers or the future of the Content Creation Team.
