Anyone wanting to know about new Boeing Commercial Airplane Layoffs. The 1st of the real Layoffs just started 2021. These are the real ones that have a domino effect with the region. !2,000 or 15,000 a year ago not even put a dent in the local economy. These are the real layoffs. The last time Boeing had a real Layoff was After 9-11 or September 11, 2001. 3 months after people stopped flying , Boeing gave out 30,000, maybe more, layoff slips starting in December 2001. I don't know when they started calling people back but when I was hired one of those who had call back from 2001 got his call back in 2011.
Boeing will not Layoff everyone at the same time. For the entire year 2021 new layoff notices will go out every week possibly everyday.. Spread out over every shop will lose a few here and a few there. That is how it will work. If the shop or group you work with have only a few people and is considered a skilled job, your a little safer your shop will see fewer people to go. The only reliable numbers I am aware of is in the Everett, WA at the factory in the Comercial Wing Center , (CWC) or 40-58 building there only keeping 100 people to run all shifts. Sounds like there going all the way back to if you was hired 2013 or after, you may get a notice sometime this year.
Everyone pay attention to managers shuffling into other shops to a mechanics position. Temporary managers are sure to be candidate for this company corruption. If you see this happen quietly tell a union man because the company will hide there managers that way. Especially the small shops. Managers of all the organizations are competing with each other trying to hide there guys in available spots around the company who are more likely to have to go. A large number of managers are getting layoff slips this year. Hundreds,.... but half of them will get hid in areas that bring little attention to it. Watch for it and report it because you may save a co-worker from going. Unemployment Maximum pay out is $780 a week without any Federal Unemployment Covid-19. Most will get $1200 a week with the federal help at first but later will drop down to the regular $780 a week. I will end with that. Thanks

Exactly why I’m leaving culture at Boeing is bunch of id–ts with no education least I’ll be at Blue Origin making bank while you guys keep complaining bought overtime and hate your life in the factory.

Work smarter not harder. Most of you ain’t taking advantage of the free education that’s what I did for my BA degree. 😂😂😂😂😂

@1sji+19xmJT4e its probably for the best. You weren't any good at cleaning your rags out of the fuel tank when you were done, you probably wouldn't be any good at cleaning toilets either (lord knows the shop bathrooms need SOMEBODY that knows how to clean)

At least as an engineer you will only dirty up the coffee area and your desk. FOD on those places won't hurt anyone.

lol they pulled my notice and reclassified me to janitorial. I am not going to take it since I accepted and offer at blue origin as an engineer. Do not want to be doing manufacturing mechanic work no more.

Can't speak for everyone but SPEEA members will probably get their ILO notices soon after receiving retention ratings from their respective qualified incompetent manager. Retention ratings should be delivered by the last week of March, so ILO notices could start as early as April. Also, don't forget R3 group was pretty much all laid off for some skill codes, so a lot of the R2s will drop down to R3. Good luck to all.

The company is going into the survival mode. It is always like that with Boeing: when the times are good, Boeing hires tens of thousands... When the times are not so good, Boeing gets rid of tens of thousands... The thing is - sh...t always floats to the top, so the people who are being laid off are those working the hardest... Just my opinion (as a former BA employee)

I have no idea. I am sure that they are going to layoff thousands. like the CEO said. I say they start next month. 87 gone 777 down to 2 planes a month. a lot of overhead not doing anything. my logical guess
