I did not say the chance is 15%, I said it reduced the chances of transmission by 85%.
So right now 1 person infects between 1 and 2 people. Let's say 1.5. If one person infects 1.5 people the numbers keep rising.
- 5 × .15 (the reduction) is .225
So if everyone wears a mask 1 person with the virus would infect. 225 people. The result is cases go down over time. Never to zero, but small.

So, let's do some real meaningful math now.
How many cases has WA state had - 62,709
How many of those people who actually HAD the virus died? 1,653
That means .0264 or 2.64% of the people who actually contract the virus die.
Thats 2 in every 100, 200 in every 10000
If there was a 2.64% chance that you would die if you got on a plane, you wouldn't go. But if you were told that the chances were reduced by 85% if you did the hokey pokey before the flight, you would be dancing like an id–t at the airport.

Most people in my department are doing the right thing and wearing a mask. But a few don’t and that raises the risk for everyone. The real problem is the management. They don’t ever enforce the rules. They would rather let disease spread than do their jobs. DERELICTION OF DUTY.

Even if they are wearing a mask. If you sneeze in a mask you reduce (not eliminate) the number of particles and slow them down so they don't go as far.

There is such thing as a "viral load" by reducing the particles, you may be keeping the viral load below the threshold to get someone sick.
As for food, this has not show to be food borne.
No not everyone gets severely sick, not everyone dies, but some do and if you can have some part in preventing it and you don't then that makes you a "special" kind of person.
The flu is a different type of virus and it is more prone to mutation. The flu shot is a different strain every year. This virus has less prone to mutation (so far). But unfortunately people like you will refuse the vaccine and not wear a mask so any hope we have of bringing this under control is reduced.
This will never go away, but we can reduce it down to something like a flu by way of infection numbers.
Its amazing that with so many medical sources available today and the complete knowledge of humanity searchable on your phone, people turn to Facebook for their information. The good news is natural selection is still a thing.
Ok, so if the mask works so well, what are those of you that are wearing them worried about? Seriously. So, you have to wear one to walk into a restaurant, but as soon as you sit down to eat, all those big bad Covid particles that are floating through the air that are going to k–l you, just decide to chill out & give you your space ...? Awesome. I can’t order a combo pizza at Costco, because more food handling involved means big bad Covid might k–l me, but since they only make pepperoni I’m ok & Covid can’t get me! Whew, thanks Costco.... you care about me almost as much as Boeing does! As for all those selfish people not wearing masks, hopefully there’ll be mandatory vaccines coming soon & then none of will have to worry about a thing, because big bad Covid will be no more ( kinda like how flu shots eliminated the flu...right? ) & we can all rest easy & never worry about anything ever again!

First of all, there is an internal website that give you total cumulative infections, active infections, and active infections by country, state, city, and building. Its been there for months. That's where redit posters are getting the info.
Second, internal Boeing active infections have been trending down like the country as a whole and WA state.
Third, wearing a mask DOES NOT infringe on your constitutional rights. Get over your f-ing selves.
This thing is not as bad as was feared back in March, but it is still infectious and it still k–ls 2 to 3% of those who get it. Its life, its not fair, so put on your big boy pants and take off your tin foil hat and deal with it.
