Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I feel so sorry for those of you that stayed

Laid off last year, took a long sabbatical, got my severance, then joined a new company with such a superior culture to C**i

I feel so bad for those that stayed

As you enter your fabulous, new company, someone is leaving and going to a fabulous, new company and looking at you saying, "I feel badly for you for coming here". 😅🤣

There is no perfect job, just what you are able to tolerate to earn the paycheck. Some have more cons than pros and vice versa. It is mostly up to the individual on how much they can tolerate.

ex.
I seen some recent college graduates join a team and working in tech and say they do not work past 5 and weekends. Because of that, they lose opportunities to learn and put on the sidelines. When they leave they may feel relieve but in the world of tech, its normal to work a little past 5 and weekends for software releases. Some jobs abuse the extra time needed, others dont overdue it like having a release every weekend. Its how much you are willing to tolerate for a paycheck, but there is no perfect scenario.

Until that place turns toxic and backstabbing.
Everyone who leaves a company always wants to brag how great it is, Until it isn't anymore.
You're not talking to someone who has been with Citi for many years and never left. I have worked at several fortune 500 companies and can say they all start out great and then the glitter turns to grime. Good luck to you and don't feel sorry for any of us.

Yeah. I am truly over it. Like I've said before. If they want a robot then they need to get robots. It's very toxic and too much politics. In my area people are so disorganized. I am still surprised after working here several years that we are getting worse as a company. Oh and still too much tracker/MS Excel going on. For a global company I thought it would be better here than other places I have worked. Sad!

I wish I were somewhere else too. This place is toxic. Mgmt is toxic. Hiring and promotions are all friends or 1) future s-xual harassment claims where someone gladly plays into their promos until they decide they don’t need the person anymore who is romantically interested in them or 2) actually engagements (cough cough at the newly engaged former report and mgr)

Agree with OP.Yes. same happened to me. But still the trauma of gaslighting, backstabbing, character sabotaging haunts me. Wonder how folks can live without character or integrity. Praying to get out of the trauma soon.

I agree with you, with current politics for those who are still fighting to survive not sure if this fight is worth and if at all there's a light (severance) at the end of tunnel
