Bronco launch “retimed” to Spring.

According to Detroit Free Press Bronco retimed due to supplier issue. Can you say Explorer.

Only the beginning of a horrific launch cycle.

The Broncos launch is delayed because the supplier(s) of the removable roof are having trouble meeting production supposedly due to the pandemic. Google it.

Not at all like the Explorer. If it was, they would go full speed ahead regardless of the issues. I worked on both programs. This Bronco will launch with quality, just like the last new program out of MAP - the Ranger which got a JD Powers award for new vehicle quality.

So, take your bitterness someplace else.

@vcg+18isCxt7: If that's what you got from my post, than it is you that is not particularly bright, not anybody else.

BTW, FCA is currently hiring its contract workers back. So, LMAO all you want.

@1rjc+18isCxt7: It worked for me.

Had a great boss, and an interesting job, in a great department.
Did not need benefits, since I am an early retiree from another Big 3 Company.
And, being agency gave me flexibility to take unpaid time off, when I wanted to.
Also, they had to pay me overtime, if I worked overtime.
There were 3 or 4 long term agency folks in my group, also. One had 13 years.

Pretty much it.

Do most successful companies like Apple, FB, Google, Tesla do that? No. They hire their employees direct/full-time.

I have bad news

Responding to @1rjc+18isCxt7. Most contract houses hold the visa and green card application of their employees (mostly from India). GC application takes 2 years to process and then there is decades long wait time for Indians. Changing employer means getting H1-B work visa and GC application done again. Not every employer wants to do GC application, H1B is still okay. Spouses of these employees have their Employment authorization based on the employees' H1B and GC application. So if they change jobs its all nightmare again.

Do most successful companies like Apple, FB, Google, Tesla do that? No. They hire their employees direct/full-time. Ford specializes in this sort of exploitation. The only thing these contract houses do is take their cut and hold their visa on paper. Usually never have to deal with their own employees. And you and me both know well, how much these lifers accomplish at work. At these tech companies you see Indians on visa in supervisor/manager positions while being on visa. How many Indians do you see as supervisors at Ford? Let's say only 25% of all are qualified. Everyone thinks H1B is a job taker from locals. How many TN visa employees work at Ford? Most don't even pay for college in US. TNs are grossly underpaid compared to H1Bs.

Responding to @azl+18isCxt7, why did you stay at Ford as agency for 8.5 years? I know agency employees who constantly searched for direct positions anywhere...some left Ford for direct positions at FCA in recent years. It is sad that Ford wouldn’t or couldn’t convert them, as they were great employees. If I were agency, I would think I would put priority on hiring direct at any company (even suppliers). Thoughts? What am I missing...what would be so enticing to stay on as agency more than 1-2 years?

Most layoff'd employees were agency and mostly on Visa. Majority were agency for at least 5-6+ years. That's the thing about this company. They won't hire people on Visa full time, they will exploit the sht out of them, and then when they are done, they chew you out.

They don't let you transfer to different department even after staying in same position for 5 years because the manager doesn't want to lose head and he will block your transfer. They don't give you quality raise. They won't convert you to full time. They won't allow your contract house to market you anywhere else. They won't let another contract house (who deals with them) to market you either. So all they are saying is, we will squeeze the heck out of you and won't even let you go anywhere. Won't this classify as modern day slavery? And all these contract house managers watch their employees getting exploited while pretending to be liberal progressives.

Not necessarily any product problems - there is an industry-wide problem getting electrical components for many ECUs. This is going to start hitting programs hard.

Translation: There must be a durability testing issue(s) or some other engineering issue delaying the proper percentage of PPAP'd parts to proceed with further builds.

Yeah. Actually kind of glad I got let go last Friday. I was pretty upset when I got the call on Friday night, but thinking about it over the weekend, I feel more sorry for the folks who are left back there to pick up all the dirty work that's coming their way. Gonna be horrific.
They will likely do their best to save the Bronco, then get axed, after they do.

Meanwhile, I, knowing what I know after 8.5 years as an agency worker there, am advising everyone within my orbit to steer clear of Ford products, especially Explorers and Broncos.
If you want an off road vehicle, get the real deal - a Jeep.

See the kind of goodwill you engender, Ford, by axing people unceremoniously, at the holidays, during a pandemic?
