Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is there a pattern in this layoff?

If you got laid off, then please post your department, your age, your salary range (if you feel comfortable posting), years you worked for the company, how many people besides yourself in the group got cut, your rating over the past three years. I think their is a pattern based on what I've read in these posting so far.

Pattern? Look at vaccine hesitancy.

So it has to be one or the other, huh? Honestly, at times, I wish I was in HR. I've been with Optum less than six months, so I don't need to "protect" anything.

At the time I responded, three people gave their info. You're right that it's a fraction of the layoffs, so we can't make assumptions of a theme of older aged and higher salaried staff as targets based responses from THREE people. That's all.

Oh, and now I see someone in their 20s was laid off sooooo that makes the "theme" you're getting at, especially with ages, irrelevant at this point.

@1rew+1m1C8y5X- 100% agreed! Especially if you were offered severance and accepted/signed. Read the fine prints on non-disclosure …

Be careful with posting that information. The evil empire might sue you even after you are gone

@qfp+1m1C8y5X- there is no theme? Those responded just a mere fraction of total RIF. Are you with HR or simply wanting to protect this org?

everyone who responded said they were remote - was this layoff targeting remote workers?

C'mon, there's no "theme," at least in this post. Only three responded, and in ages 40s, 50s, 70s with salaries ranging up to 100k difference.

Be careful when posting this kind of data, too detailed info can reveal your identity. Round up those numbers to make it more vague.

There is a fairly consistent "theme" - Age/Higher Grade salary. If you are offered a "package" guarantee you will be asked to sign a "waiver" not to file a "L-suits". Sorry to say if you have not been thru RIF, this is the sad reality. A major utility company did just that having onshore technology staff to train the incoming H1B visa, a Congressman was involved. Guess who has the purse string dangling around on the so called "severance" pay that you need to keep yourself and family sustained until the next job? You got the answer...All the executives jobs are intact...Right? Loyalty does not pay in this org....In the meantime, "fringe" benefits of engaging with a
managed services provider surely beefing up the overall comp for those above...Move on and never look back...
