All the media receives is no comment from official media contacts. All employees know is from job postings to the jobs site, unofficially forwarded emails, or the what turns out to be accurate announcements here. There isn't even enough merchandise to sell to a liquidator, because already bought merchandise isn't getting paid for, and all the buyers have been laid off. This is all an unofficial liquidation where the stores just empty out and close, no liquidators needed, because Eddie didn't pay them in good faith, they don't want to deal with him anyway. Neither TransformCo nor the Great Wizard Oz behind it has any money to pay them.

There won't be more liquidations. The company is doing well and the Go Forward Plan is well underway. New merchandise is coming and the sale of Die Hard has created new energy.
Post COVID, Home & Life and .com will be major growth drivers.
Haters despise the truth, but the truth is that Americans know that there's still more for your life at Sears. No other retailer can replace it. Not today, not tomorrow.

Here's a news flash for you. They are a private company. They don't have to release anything to the media.
Do they even have any official media contact people? Recently a really excellent post about the former head spokesperson quickly got removed because it was too critical of the man behind the curtain..
It's been a long time coming, but it seems the final store closure announcement could happen any time.
