Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Existing customers

There is no doubt that the company won't be able to retain existing customers in this way. But leadership doesn’t seem to care about employees or customers.
Maybe because of their arrogance, they don't realize that customers are more dissatisfied than ever?

@1ztl Agreed. I can't imagine any meaningful new contracts, for sure. Some existing customers, especially those who run their production here, will have to stick around while planning their exit, of course.

Two bankruptcies should have every single customer heading towards the exits!

And what competent CEO/CIO would sign-off on a contract with Sungard AS at this point?

Sure, the leadership team will continue to put lipstick on a (dead) pig, but there is no changing reality.

Sungard AS has lost all relevance in the market.

I'm shocked every time a customer agrees to anything more than 12 months. I think it's time to get ready for more requests to go month-to-month than ever before. Even the really sleepy, clueless customers are bound to wake up now.

Ya we’ve figured out our new strategy will be to lock customers into 10 year Colo and hotsite contracts and blood suck them until we liquid all assets.

Oh by the way there will be another layoff in October and possibly Christmas.
