Anyone heard about the upcoming layoffs in Digital? Looks like the new chief’s 9-month-long reorganization is wrapping up, and at least 100 people are being let go, with even more positions unmapped. HR and some departments have started holding career days, helping those potentially affected with trainings on creating strong resumes and cover letters, and preparing for interviews. It seems like this is about to happen soon.

Imagine having more than 1000 people in your org and you keep SD and promote AL. Did you even speak to these people about their current or past topics? Did you feel like they were the most knowledgeable, inspiring and qualified people you'd ever met? Seriously?!? They might be friendly to you ... But is that the criteria we're going for? Instead of firing people, promote better ones, that's how you grow a business.
You can't take this leadership serious. The latest hire for VP Content is an absolute joke and a disrespect to us all. That woman is absolutely clueless about what she does, has never added value, but smiling and a-s kissing gets you a long way. TS liked her from the past, so that's how you land a role. In general, I guess you have to be white and preferably German or fluent to make this SLT, as a woman it seems to be a must. Only in Amsterdam there's non-Germans. What a sh-t show!
On the people that were laid off, did any of them land a new role yet? Or do they not stand a chance in this era?
It's been quiet here, how do we like the new org? Do we finally know how many people got laid off? Does it make more sense now? Was Bobby the magic answer to everyone's problem? Will Matthieu have another go at it in a few months and we'll soon start all over again?
It depends on how you view it. Without a bigger budget, things are just going to get harder for him. Perhaps a setup for failure?
Bobby wins!!! Owns everything. Why do we even need Tobias? SVP CE!!! Never took one consumer centric decision in his life, only Bobby-centric ones and somehow ends up grabbing the whole pot. Offer me one of these packages please, I want out of this mess.
AMS and HZO
In what location? AMS is fine......do not spread rumors.....
@1Nioj+1sNwdWYH which location you're talking about?
20ish people made redundant. M1, M2 and some M3 and M4. Unfortunately they let the good ones go. The toxic ones are still there, some even got promoted. What a leadership…
Voluntary leave offers also offered atm in some parts of the org
How many people are impacted in total? This was mentioned so quickly. What are the new org charts? What are the roles disappearing? Can affected colleagues see where new roles might open already?
Well not shutdown immediately but “in stages”. A bunch of people were lost go today and everyone else will follow until everything is shutdown and “handed over”.
all Austrian offices are shut down.
This post on reddit has more information about the Runtastic impact https://www.reddit.com/r/Austria/comments/1ffunqn/adidas_dreht_runtastic_voraussichtlich_ab_montag/?sort=new
Not all the team leads were invited. Probably only the ones remaining. In any way, looks like a big change for Austria.
In Austria we have received the calendar invite for Monday at 9:30. Team leads have already been informed today about the changes.
Everything points that the announcement for Austria will be on the 16th, which means that they will need to let people know that something is coming on Friday 13. It will be a good weekend for them 🤡 any news from anyone?
This thread seems to have several people from digital product posting. Flywheels are a Tobias Seeman term. He is the SVP for digital products. No idea though what flywheel of death means.
What’s up with the flywheels? Am I missing something?
What’s predicted to happen? #flywheel
So anyone got any plans for Friday the 13th? 🤡
@1qmee+1sNwdWYH HR is not useless, they're doing what they are paid for - implementing CEO's agenda & acting as a buffer for backlash. HR is never employees' friend & will never ever be. Do not expect something for your benefit.
I feel the middle managers at Adidas struggles to define their roles and goals. Party due to a lack of experience and partly because at VP level there is no strategy. Consequently, they tend to make rash decisions everywhere - including hiring.
For AMS in particular the decisions seem overtly biased because its a small team. I am sure hzo has its share of politics. Lets see if this reorg opens up some opportunities for us.
Politics from the business side in AMS has always been crazy!!! People leave and immediately new people are hired and yet the one's hired during covid have seen no promotions to fill those roles!! HR in Adidas is the most useless I've seen for a company this size and yet the head of HR is somehow a board member?
It should be director and above from what we are hearing n seeing. Promotions in tech indicate that there are no cuts for those teams (if any left) in AMS?
@1ifzy+1sNwdWYH I heard around this time next month.
Reporting line changes and the impacted roles will be Snr Director and up in over inflated/no longer necessary teams.
It's not clear if the problem is calling out an individual (that happens quite often here), using a misogynist term for them (while no one cares about this aspect if the addressee was a male), or that people looking for gossip are offended to see a friend's name here.
Do we have any information on the September announcements?
If we can't call out some misogynist who calls others bi--hes without being accused of being part of the problem... then the place is in a worse state than we realise.
"I use this for reading rumours but can we just stop with the personal stuff? You can upvote your own posts as much as you like (it's obvious) but you're in the minority if you think this is ok to target individuals"
Another management stooge. If you are here defending them, you are part of the problem.

Give me a like if you think Alexandra Popova is a total bi--h. She has singlehandedly ki-led the AMS office vibe.
No one really has any more info on this…!?
Seems announcements are coming mid September.
It's a rumor site, so take everything with a grain of salt - but lately, at least in the digital part, there's a lot of uncertainty
I am interviewing for a role at Adidas. I'm so glad I found this platform. Why are they even hiring if the Amsterdam office is getting scaled down?
Linz and Vienna convened a works meeting on 07.08 to then form a works council, GPA is supporting. Management remains silent (NDAs?)
What’s being decided?
Announcement coming in August. The market ecom leads got a preview this week. It is exactly as OP says.
If we look at the bright side, there is a high chance that some of the incompetent M1s and M2s in AMS will jump ship soon. Those bobby-bimbos who had their boyfriends move to Decathlon will follow suit and others who have been silently fking adi over the last decade will now want to 'reinvent' themselves. It will be hilarious to see these mediocre hypocrites move to Nike and try to prove their 'brand' loyalty.
Any chance they would offer a package, I reckon at least 50% of us would bite their hand off to leave…..
What has been announced? Where is cut?
