You cannot lay-off just by age group, that’s a lawsuit and they know that. There will always be a mix in age some will just be innocent casualties for law reasons. Pension were drop to anyone new after 2000-2001. No one gets on after that date. Some older ones at that time were grandfathered into still have money added to there’s tho. But they were close to retirement anyway. My pension started in 1990 and ended in 2000. It is not gone they just didn’t add to it anymore. So those 35 year employees still have a reduced pension unless they took they buyout.

This is not a surprise. Any US employee with over 5 years has always been a target here. This is NCR way of saying thank you for your service now go work somewhere else. This is why i quit after 4 years and started working for ADP. Tenured employees are appreciated here and you will come across hundreds of people who have been here 10–15 years plus. If they were in NCR they would have been cut long time back. So bottom line is get the he-l outta here.

In 35 years at NCR, the layoffs almost always included the oldest person in the team, anyone with a disability and the newest team member.

Still anecdotal, but word within NCR that current 2022 Nov layoffs still include again mostly seasoned long term employees that are coming up on their retirement years. Seems to be a trend with NCR. They lay off senior employees with a nice, but cheaper, package rather than having them retire with an even better pension/retirement package that NCR would have to otherwise pay more over the Senior employee's future retirement

10% of employee in Serbia was RIF-ed

@1qlr+1jEeIy64
since desks and other departments started in Serbia, customers are more happy with the work done then before. Success percentage is much higher then when people in US worked on it.

@wnt+1jEeIy64

NCR Serbia has low paychecks, everyone who is worth anything will go to different company for 3 times bigger paycheck. NCR Serbia is starter job for a lot of people, but paychecks are so small its laughable now. NCR Does have bad reputation, especially during Bill times. Serbia has big pool of people who speak different languages on native level. And if you know lets say Dutch+ English you were getting low paycheck, same with Spanish+ English+ French etc.

Big shift to overseas but I can tell you that some of the customer accounts not happy with contacting the Help Desk in Serbia, India, Phillipines or wherever outside of the US. The account I service was told they have to call in all issues now which of course is more time consuming. The automated ticketing system was much better prior to this but the account became leery as to the volume of calls. Plus once NCR started charging them for calls this was implemented of course to cut down on calls to save money.

NCR used to have some fully owned subsidiary like Permond or Front Line Systems which were folded back into the mother. company .

As other threads have stated they leave ncr Serbia for better jobs. Most say they only work for NCR because they have to. Not because they want to. Another said NCR gained a bad reputation in Serbia already. It’s a starter job I guess they move on.

Yep, I can see it!
Cut US workers 4th quarter, then the following year hire overseas workers to replace US workers.

Wait until company is split, everything will move overseas.

Why pay US wages, when you can pay overseas workers less than half the US wages.

Cut expenses to show a profit.

NCR a US company does not care about US workers; unless you are in the Mullet-Head gang then your covered.

I guess I should’ve added if you’re in the States not knowing how much is outsourced you would think they have some good growth. As well as a Great company to work for. Btw they hire 21 in serbia to replace the team of 7 I was on.
