Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Port strike suspended

Take notes, iam751, that’s how we should have done it, keep negotiating while we go back to work. You at iam751 su-k as negotiators. When we do go back, we make it a priority to get rid and replace this union.

The machinists need to give it up, 30% raise is more than generous. Local employers dont give that much or pay the high wages that Boeing is paying you. And when you are all out of work you will see how most people live and the low pay increases that we get.

Boeing doesnt miss the machinists. How does it feel to have no paycheck today? Greed got you to this point.

No, that is NOT the lesson they should learn.

The true lesson is to go in with actual good faith negotiation room.

Longshoremen went in with demands of 77% and no automation.

They got 62% and some concessions on automation.

IAM thinks that they can go in with 40% and pensions and they are not willing to deal on any of it. That is incompetent at best and Unfair labor practices at worst.

Not only am I taking note of the Port workers union decision, but I'm going back to work next week and the union can call me when they allow me to make my own decision by vote.

I spent half my 15years in Everett (union), and the other half in Charleston. I can genuinely say, its great down here not having a union. Boeing is pretty fair and competitive.
