Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Mental health is priceless

I can't tell you how many people have told me that they feel like they're becoming a better version of themselves now that they've changed their jobs and are not subjected to the constant toxic atmosphere and bullying from those above them. In all honesty, that's what prompted me to start looking for something else. My mental health is more important than this cr-ppy company.

If you have not been bullied or harassed by your manager at 3M consider yourself very lucky. It seems bullying and harassment are part of the culture of 3M. 3M has a Code of Conduct so I do not understand why this behavior is tolerated.

@1qic+1nEpUz6y Lucky for you. I must admit, I didn’t have issues with bullying with my few supervisors. My current one on the other hand…
And what is crazy, is that they have a history of doing this to another employee on my team. HR has done nothing, because it doesn’t hit the threshold of bullying apparently.

I wonder if different BG have less/more issues with this. I have heard stories similar to mine under the R&D division….

I've been in three different business groups over the course of my career and I've never experienced the bullying that people on this forum insist is happening.

I'm sure there are some terrible bosses out there, but the problem with 3M isn't bullying, it's the complete lack of guidance and direction the company had due to our ineffectual milquetoast CEO and GE cast-off CFO hiring his cronies.

I am in my early 50s but I am still hanging on due to the relatively good salary. I don't mind if they give me the severance package. Anyway my job nature is quite easy. Will wait and see.

wish i could leave but I am in my late 50's and even though my mental health could be better, I will see out the last few years and pray I can keep strong

Glad you are looking to leave. Best thing I personally ever did. I was in TTS/IT and the environment was toxic. Was hard for me to get up everyday for work. Now that I left I’m actually excited to go to work!
