Don't post stupid rumors that are easily disproved by checks notes reading the fu--ing RTO page.

The new Bedminster only exists because some high level VPs complained about having to move to Middletown and it worked somehow (this company can't commit to any plan more than 6 months).

It has a 3 year lease. It won't be renewed. Middletown Building A is owned and will need to be sold if they actually want to close it per their RTO plan.

But this is AT&T, plans never last more than 6 months. And execution of those plans always takes at least 4 times as long as they thought it would, because "planing" to do something at AT&T is done by a bunch of dudes in Dallas who sit around at a big table jerking each other off with fake accomplishments and fake data when they project how long it will take to do XYZ.

Carrying your office needs around all day is torture.

I doubt that either Middletown or Bedminster will be shut down.

MT will be shut down by EOY 2024 or early 2025. That fact has been known since the RTO started. Bedminster probably won't be around long either. Dallas & Atlanta will be all that's left.

I left AT&T facilities a couple of years ago, however, I can tell you the plan at the time was a big Dallas HQ, small ATL satellite campus and west coast presence...Nada for NY/NJ in the long run.

Legg said at his town meeting that they he doesn't like people saying he lied but he did say that about 40% of his organization will eventually be not in the US. And anyone left in the US should treat them like your peer.

Given that, it sounds like there will be no need at all for either Bedminster or Middletown in the future. Or probably any US location other than Atlanta or Dallas.

Given that they are trying to shove 5 buildings worth of people into one building like sardines, this would not surprise me. Yes, many of all 5 buildings were already vacant from the numerous layoffs of the past, but to get them to fit in the remaining building, they are gutting entire sections and making them open space and making all offices drop in spaces.

People are already complaining about how janitorial services can't handle the extra people in the one remaining building with bathrooms and kitchenette garbage bins overflowing. Shared equipment is already breaking just months into this experiment. The only collaboration, which is what they claim the reason for this is, is to not be able to find your coworkers anymore because there are no assigned seats anymore and everyone is pretty much sitting in new spots every single day since everything is first come first served. Well, people are also reporting they now know more about projects they are not involved because the noise level means they can overhear lots of conversations about projects they are not involved in--or the personal problems of coworkers who are sitting near them with essentially no barriers.

From what other people tell me, this is yet another experiment in how to make people miserable so they'll leave on their own.

No, this is completely absurd. Whoever heard this and even repeated it should be ashamed.
