Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I'm exhausted

Is anybody else about ready to quit even without a new job lined up just to stop constantly worrying about layoffs? I know it sounds illogical, but I feel as if I'd be in a better mental state if I was unemployed and looking for a job than being in the 24/7 stressful environment I'm in right now.

With the active construction and cost savings, I would highly advise against eating and drinking from RR buildings.

That's what they want you to do. So I refuse. I am looking for new jobs but I won't just quit and make the a55h0les happy and get them what they want lol. I have decided to thrive in spite of them! They want us miserable and I choose to be happy!

We can't control a lot of the changes happening but I can control how I feel and react to things and this is my choice. I also refuse to spend a time in round rock or on campus since I travel from another city. I bring my own snacks and lunches and never spend a cent on campus or even get gas in round rock. Haha

Many people are staying out of spite. Many Do the bare minimum to stay employed.

My bf was laid off yesterday. Bratislava office. It was shock but also terrible stress relief. So yes, I can confirm…There are still jobs out there, we immediately networked with friends, CVs already sent out. Atmosphere in the office is like at cemetery. I am thinking about quitting as well, I used to like the company. Even if you’re not fired, whats to like about getting agenda of 3 other people and burn out within one year?

@moq+1uZhGoJeyou are 100% spot on. F the company, manage your expectations, don't pretend we are anything other than a number. There is no such thing as company loyalty at Dell.

Can't wait to see more of them, eventually they will nail all the kiss as--s and gas-lighters whom they should have hit 1st. You know, the ones who will be chronically unemployed when the good ones are all settled into new jobs.

The good news is the more layoffs that you survive the less you stress about them. I still remember my first layoff I went through even though I survived but I don't remember the 20 or so after that.

It's hard to flip the switch, but take a moment and appreciate everything you have outside of work and remember anything you do in your job above and beyond at this moment only benefits Michael Dell and the other shareholders. Find the limit of what benefits you and stop at there. If that means you just want to keep your job, aim for that amount of input. If you're worried about your position, search for a new one while you have income, it's much less stressful that way. Don't let the execs win by rage quitting, that's what they want.

not alone my friend. the constant policy changes and fear of being the next one cut is hard to deal with every day. i would recommend you update your resume and may start looking else where... never hurts to be prepared.

They treat people like furniture. It's a shyte company.

You are not alone. Anyone who selected remote is basically giving them the finger.

Physical and mental exhausted but have bills to pay but how this 24x7 everyday mentally has su-ked us back in is terrible. Extremely bad planning by many teams and leadership to let those roll through people trying to push aspects through to look good and do not care for welfare of the team. With the right level of planning so much should be achieved within the normal business day instead of these unrealistic timeliness and pressure for staff to work longer hours for no extra pay. So tired so hard to get any real work do with this noise of constant panic with everything last minute. 😪 As hard as this is right now how to they expect us to also do the same while travelling to the office. So tough when you feel you are at a loss and need to just get on with it to pay bills.

I can’t deny that I’ve wanted to. I can’t though. I have a family and of course the unrelenting downpour of ever increasing bills. You have to do what you think is best in your own situation. I will say, don’t let a momentary rage decision of “Fu-k this place” take away what I assume is your only income. That’s 100% what C Suite wants right now.
