Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Why didn’t Karen take a cut?

So this is a fair question, when the company makes money, the highest execs get the biggest bonuses, the worker bees get peanuts when things go south. Why don’t highest paid executives take a cut they are paid in millions tens of millions for that matter. Why don’t you take a cut Karen I’m sure someone will read this to you anyway this was your incompetence that the company is in this mess when we lost Blue Cross of California. Why are you still employed?

You are spot on! Their website and app are jokes! It's very difficult to shop. Prescriptions aren't any easier and are very confusing.

If you search for a product, unlike every other website out there, you can't right click on something and open it in a new window - instead you only get the thumbnail image. Did it never occur to the id--ts that designed the website that often people like to look at multiple products at a time?

And what's up with half the items being out of stock at nearly any given time? Wouldn't it make more sense to ship items from a warehouse rather than having the stores ship them out?

Prescriptions are a PAIN! It seems there's no way to have these set on automatically being shipped to me. I have to get multiple texts and e-mails, check out so it's ready at the pharmacy, then request it to be shipped to me. This past time it took them nearly a week to ship it. And then it seems you'll have different options if you view it in a web browser or if you use the app. I usually do not have the option to checkout using the computer, only when using my phone. I much prefer to use my computer. I would much prefer to get an e-mail than a text message.

I can only imagine how confusing it is to an elderly person who already struggles to use a phone.

I would much rather get my prescription through Amazon or someplace where it's simple and I can view everything in one place, and I can choose whether I use the app or the website.

Even if the board fires Karen, do you think the next CEO filling in would take substantially less? They can’t run without a ceo, they can run without a multitude of middle managers.

In any position I have ever worked, if I did not meet metrics or was failing in some way, I would not get a bonus or would not get a raise, or at least they were lower.
Why is it this is not true for Karen?? She runs the company and CVS missed metrics bigtime, is failing, hence why they have to keep laying people off.
That means she is not doing a good job. Yet she is rewarded not only with a bonus, but a bonus of $21 MILLION?? That is 20 times her annual base salary.
My bonus was always about 10% of my base salary max, usually more like 5%.
Wth???
Leadership should lead by example. If you are going to give your employees metrics for EVERYTHING (down to how many rings until you pick up the phone and how long you talk to each customer), then tie their annual eval, their raise, and their bonus to those metrics, then the same should apply to that leader.
What cr-p.

ELT, SVP’s VP’s need to lead by example and take a pay cut. Digital SVP’s and VP’s are poor leaders who do not understand Product delivery. Nothing worthwhile produced since they have taken charge. They need to focus on broken applications like CVS.COM or CVS retail native app. Instead they are wasting shareholder money on new technologies without clear direction. They should be the first ones to be kicked out. Leadership quality is poor. They cannot motivate teams. They treat people like dirt. Majority do not trust them.

@fgt+1oaCNn0N Karen can be replaced too. If Caremark loses anymore big contracts, I'm sure investors are gonna start asking questions about who's in charge.

because the company doesn't care about the worker bee's. They are disposable and cann be replaced.

You need to get with it. Unless you run the company you have 0 say. They will let anyone they want go at any given time no reason needed.

To:
She makes 1.5 million per year. So that won't go very far. The Sr execs make $250-350k so layoffs will happen there.

Reply:
Her total yearly compensation is $21.32M , comprised of 7% salary and 93% bonuses, What rock are you living under

If you accept government dollars in your business. All exec leadership should drop salary to $1 for any mass layoff. Write the legislation.
