New Year, new layoffs.
seems like things are turning for the better now.
I got an offer about a month after the layoff. I can assure you no other company is as bad a Dell. Please feel blessed to be out of Dell. Better life awaits you.
Historically, By now, lists would have been submitted. 1st or 2nd week of Q1 is what would normally happen. Like clockwork. Like clockwork.
I'm sure it's going to be spectacular!
Like wild dogs after tasting blood, can't stop.
Feb 2nd is actually Q1. We use fiscal not calendar year. Q4 ends on January 31st.
huge, word is jan 2 is the big 1
Feb 2 would be Q4, not Q2 which is May/June/July.

I was laid off the last week in January on a Monday and my last day was that Friday. My last day was Feb. 2, so technically the layoff was in Q2.
Everyone calm down, the very high contact on good authority hasn't responded yet.
Sorry but what is AE being mentioned below?
No worries, they'll be one.
There will be layoffs especially around the merit cycle. It's going to be "fund your own metrit" this year, so in order to give merit you need to layoff people. Nice Michael, real nice.
As an AE, I fully get what you're saying, some of the AE's I've worked when, alongside are s h 1 t. The problem with them is they don't think you're taking about them, they believe they are exceptionally good at their job over the rest of us.
Don't blame them though, blame their manager for enabling them.
The cost of WFR is too high, they are going manage people out.
AE's are over paid for what the value they add, they are the obvious target next. Before the AE's get all butt hurt, not all AE's are useless, there are many good and some exceptional AE's.
If you spend all day in your inbox and in spreadsheets, always complaining about admin, then you're probably the ones getting butt hurt because the truth hurts. Your job is to find new business, not wait for it to knock on your door.
ISR's can slot in and deal with most accounts. The high profile ones will continue to be lead by an AE. For that one presentation a quarter back to SMT, some ISR's can step in, managers can step up, AI will take care of it, you're off the hook. Get out your pjs and find a real job.
Yes please. These old wheezy white dudes, with the stench of cheap beer and terrible tobacco stuff. Ugh. Set them free so I won't lose my g-b smackalackin mind!
Would absolutely love to see reduction in senior management (Round Rock, TX).
Have there been January WFRs? Always thought they waited more for February w/ beginning of FY... though these days they just keep happening all the time so it wouldn't surprise me.
Think its anyones guess at this stage.
No mention of it at the moment in my country and org but everyone is expecting it.
