Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

7/30 is here!

Have done everything to shore up the stock price to $7.40 to hedge against a sharp decline... good job so far... now have to either announce spinoff of a unit for a healthy amount or spin some message to survive.

The "you're lucky that you still have a job" attitude is nothing new. It has been used by US employers for decades to intimidate and bully employees and justify the lack of raises. The moral of the story. If you don't like how you're being treated by a company. Head for greener pastures. Take care of yourself. No one else will.

Doing the jobs of what was 4 or 5 employees, is now done by 1 employee is the norm.

I don't agree with being a baby comment, but sometimes you need to look around and see what else is going on in the world and not just make it about you. Companies right now are demanding more of their employees and giving them less. It's an employers market, they can. Allscripts has never been fair and equitable in their practices and their management and decision making has been poor for YEARS. You are also free to look for a new job, and leave. I said long ago that you leave or you deal with, no sense in continual complaining. Many people I know across industries lost salary and working just as hard if not harder. They should and do complain as well, but sometimes you need to put it into perspective.

As for raises, again, they never should've been given at all with reviews this year. People got merit increases only to be laid off two or three weeks later. It's Allscripts dysfunction at their finest.

At the end of the day you work for a publicly traded company, and one that cares little about their employees. Their job is to make money for their stockholders (and pretend they care about their clients with their subpar product offerings). So if making money for their stockholders means slashing salaries as part of their "improvement" plan the overpaid consultants suggested, then that's what they do.

Didn't PB say in his initial email when he discarded long-time loyal employees that they hope to restore salary by end of the year? It's only halfway through.. so you most likely will be waiting for a while. One quarter of better than expected earnings doesn't put the company on solid economic footing. Maybe if they sell off more companies they never properly integrated they'll have the capital to give salaries back.

Wow. "Don't be a baby"? Really? I happen to agree with @1pjt+16cY3OgY and those lecturing on how lucky we are to have jobs seem awfully disingenuous. Yes, I'm grateful to have a job but I'm pretty damn resentful that I've been busting my a$$ putting in 50+ hour weeks with nothing to show for it with continual pressure from higher ups demanding more. My salary was cut through no fault of my own but because of c-appy business decisions and poor leadership. Forget raises...I just want my damn salary restored.

Raises aren't a given. Ever. Get over it if they're gone for a year. I think everyone needs to look outside of their little bubble and realize the millions who are struggling and lost their jobs, including many of your former colleagues. Sure, no raises s—s (but no one should've gotten them in first place when they're in the red every quarter, that's on management to say no raises this year) and salary cuts s— too.. but if your salary was cut you were making over 100k... so be grateful for that. We all mourn what we've lost and it s—s for our families... but all things considering if you're still employed, making a good salary.. be grateful.

Not sure when salaries are going back to normal, but any raises were already deferred to next year (They went form July to January). Whether they hold good to that...also not sure, ultimately I don't stress over things I have no control over.

Don’t be a baby. Many of us would take a cut over unemployment.

The stock traded a little higher after the pump and dump boys got ahold of it, but they'll drop it like its hot tomorrow after they read the financial statements..

Negative $7.5 million net income for 2Q 2020. I wasn't surprised still in the red.

I’m surprised to see Allscripts have as strong of a showing as they did given the pressures of this pandemic on hospitals right now. I’m happy for my former colleagues still there that they live to see another day of dysfunction.

In my group, no one worked very hard and had very little in transferable skills, so getting a new job won’t be easy. I know!

I hope it continues but remain weary, it’s Allscripts after all and they have zero respect in marketplace and by partners and vendors, terrible management starting top down all the way to middle managers and often have amazing surprising good quarters only to be lackluster and lay off again three months later. Congrats to those working hard in spite of the challenges of poor everything else.

As for salaries, I hope they return soon but just remember if you get a big salary you’re more at risk of losing your job. Be happy you have a job and salary at all right now.
