Does anyone know if voluntary redundancy is being entertained as an option in the UK? Or should [theoretical employee] have requested it long ago?

Office is being closed down - we have no choice.
Answers vary. I have heard in some parts of the business, it will be considered if requested, but they are under no obligation.
