Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

HR is the biggest joke ever, even in the aftermath.

Good Lord, the debacle.

You can have two people in Citi who can be in the same location, same team and have the same manager. Both get let go. One can have all his HR paperwork, last paystub, severance etc… any of it and all of it sent to them in a timely manner along with all questions answered. The other gets no responses, maybe the last paystub sent, maybe not, severance yet to be paid out, nothing but the run around.

After all this time, you’d think there’d be a more streamlined, well vetted, timely process but instead we are left with the keystone cops running around to the tune of Jane approved Benny Hill music playing in the background.

If there’s any one group that needs to be rooted out and replaced, it should be Citi HR.
How could it be any worse, if you were to high an outsourced party to do the same job.
You could do so, while you methodically interview and replace HR with new blood. Sure there will be mistakes made but how could it possibly be worse than what we currently have.

No one in HR can ever help, advise, guide, or knows anything. All they can do is send you to contact someone else because “they may know, I’m not really sure”.

HR is not much of a concern in comparison to the more publicly embarrassing scenarios of us getting fined or sued. Those are more of a huge loss of revenue rather than the HR bumblings. Getting past all of that, yes, Citi HR is a joke.

I’ve been employed by three major companies and I must admit the HR at Citi seems to be more scattered in their thinking and actions. The most common response from them is for you to go call someone else. I think most of them want to be helpful, they just do’t know how.

Problem is nobody is in charge of anything and everybody is just doing whatever they want. Just boxes are being checked to look good on paper. They don't even have a proper welcome area for guests that is better organized than any downtown parking lot guard shack.

Post ID: @1pdp+1t3hHDlW Wrong. It's a styrofoam cup with Sh!t inside it.

HR’s lack of helpfulness is by design. Most likely they have been “encouraged” to be vague and drag their feet in order to frustrate people, which in turn adds stress, which is an ingredient in the recipe to run people off so they don’t get their severance payout.

I don’t think they are as id--tic as most people think but I do think their actions or lack there of is by design.

I’m looking at the perfect replacement for HR right now. Yep, that’s right, it’s a styrofoam cup.

What do you expect from the ‘new’ Citi. They’ve known about this for months and still do not have the decency to provide documents in a timely manner. People’s lives are affected and HR sits back without any accountability. Shame on Citi.

HR should be stripped down to bare bones and replaced for sure.

Sadly this is true. Seems like no one project or program managed this. Saying there’s lots of volume due to # of people being displaced is ridiculous since management decided how many and when.
