Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

So, the whale is Ericsson. Nothing else.

It's over. IFS is finished before it's even begun.

@1pcu - Why tf would any smart, leading edge customer pay for Intel's 18A node when Intel doesn't want to use it for its own Arrow Lake CPU?

On defense of our fearless leader PG; what he really said was that we had a "Well".

They stopped calling them a whale, I'd say the fishing line snapped and they lost the customer and are saving face

Ericsson self identifies as a "Whale", even though it is a guppy.
But we must accept and "respect" this.
After all, if a man can self declare himself to be a woman, why can't a guppy be a whale??

#TOLERANCE

Stuart Pann said this at a recent Goldman Sachs conference
"Yes. I mean, job one this year is to go land 18A customers. And for those of you in the audience who want to ask me who the prepaid customer was, I'll tell you ahead of time, I'll probably disappoint you in my answer, but you can ask it if you want. "

It's NOT Apple because Pann also said they aren't competitive in mobile in that same conference.

He's already managing expectations to say you'll be disappointed.

Why would someone like Jensen want to do with arrogant id--ts from intel who are not even worth one tenth of his self -made fortune ?

No no. Whale is the one who paid for 18A Fab capacity. Can’t be Ericsson. I think it is NVidia or Apple. Wait and watch.

Everybody knows IFS is a joke that will remain sub-scale just like the last time Intel tried to become a foundry.

AMD and Nvidia are second sourcing to Samsung, not Intel.
Apple and Qualcomm are TSMC exclusives.
Mediatek is using an old depreciated Intel 16 node for cheapie chips.

Despite all of the rah rah 5n4y noise, reality shows that no one wants it.

A giant in semiconductor innovation.
