Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Disappointed and frustrated

Do we have go to online forums to find out if anyone has a little more detail about the Innovation Selling Program to share, or should Macy’s be little more transparent? If nothing else, I think we deserve a little more transparency. Why do we have to find out about everything at the last minute?

Everyone should be making $18 or more an hour, if you’re not please find a new job there are plenty out there. Don’t allow companies to pay you dishonest wages thank you. Ask for a raise, companies aren’t going to offer them. Demand what you want

I heard today that the stores might change where Colleagues only come in earlier if there is a truck. Can anyone confirm that? What about signing and other support functions? So how do they get in unless making arrangements with whichever Manager will be there. Fulfillment Associates does this apply to them also?

The store still needs people to come in early to set sale. You can't do that when the store is open. There will be limited # of people doing fulfillment and dock work b/c you have to be background checked to work there. Sales people are not background checked - at least not in my store.

I am at store level. I am here to help try and give another perspective on issues that are being called out. OP talked about not being informed about a new program and how they were going to find out last minute. I simply tried to state that we are rolling out this program in a few months and want to align leaders in the store so it can be communicated properly. You're right though, not worth trying to communicate any alternate messaging on this board. This forum is designed to only talk negatively about the company, nothing constructive.

If we rolled out the information quickly without fully informing the leaders, the folks on here would complain that the managers don’t know what they are talking about. In this instance we are getting the information communicated in a structured manner so everyone is informed, but that’s an issue too.

“You people” refers to the folks on this page that do nothing but hate on every action of the company, has nothing to do with the team of amazing colleagues we have in our stores. There is no winning with folks on this site. If we rolled out the information quickly without fully informing the leaders, the folks on here would complain that the managers don’t know what they are talking about. In this instance we are getting the information communicated in a structured manner so everyone is informed, but that’s an issue too. There is no way to do anything without a guarantee of negativity on this site.

Hey OP, not sure what you are complaining about. There is a new program, it’s coming in June. The details will be rolled out shortly. Nothing is coming to you last minute. It’s as if all you people want to do is complain. The information will be rolled out to you once we get the information out to the leaders that need to understand the program. Gosh!

100 percent agree, this is a way to get rid of people mainly the older folks who have been working for a long time and are getting paid more and have more benefits like more PTO and all of that.

this is a ploy to unload all the older folks who still have commission jobs and others who do not . say sally worked in mens for 20 years and is happy now they move her around to places she knows nothing about and stress her out till she quits.. you now see this is macys motto . Macys knows they cant fire you with being hit with a lawsuit so they make your life he-l till you go

Everyone will do everything. Support will not come early anymore. Sales have to do support. Support gotta do sales, no more coming in super early. You can go be assigned to work at any department except commission ones like cosmetics, fragrance and jewelry. That’s the gist of it. Basically it like this flex workers we used to have years ago, you will be all over and doing everything. Seems like a way to get rid of people.
