I agree there's a need for more layoffs. I'd like to see them open it for volunteers again, I think there are a good number of people who regret not taking the first one.

Agreed total headcount of 60K with 5K green badges. There will be a massive layoff like never before in the history of Intel. At the end of the day IFS will produce tier -3 products - probably to China or other low end high failure rate companies - and that is it. CCG will have design wins but built at TSMC. It is obvious what is going to happen. Pat was too stupid to understand this.

It won't be evenly across the board,
We are buying wafers from TSMC and doing our own R&D.
Which means the entire R&D can be cut without even impacting revenue in any way.
Those in the fabs would still be around because at least they are still producing something.
