Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Back to office

So two months back in the office now… everybody/anybody happy besides the execs who manipulated the employee surveys to make it seem like a lot of us wanted to be back in the office? I haven’t had a single in person meeting since going back and everybody I talk to is extremely unhappy about having to be in the office 3 days a week. What’s the point of being back if most everything is still via Teams… we can do that from home. Morale has been low for a long time but I feel this has caused it to be even lower, I know of quite a few employees that have already left for more or fully remote position.

@5pfv+1c8Hg0yU… sure you did. That’s why you still troll APA’s thread. Stock price hasn’t been that high in like 6 years so if true it’s pretty sad that APA still takes up space in your head.

Chiming in as someone who actually is concerned about getting covid. Obviously most companies are torn between bringing back masks or not; but obviously we have a lot of people who refuse/refused to wear masks in common areas again; given that limitation perhaps the Covid response team is doing the best they can to try to keep us safe (which lets face it, a lot of us suck at outside of work as well) and give us options.

Ideally bringing back the mask mandate would have solved a lot of the problems, as someone correctly pointed out earlier on in this thread, that being vaccinated today does not mean the same thing as being vaccinated 3-4 months ago did and who knows what it will mean in 3 or 4 months from now; but without a masking mandate and a constantly evolving virus that puts unvaccinated people and vaccinated people in the same space, I honestly think they did the best they could with what they had to work with. And again working from home is a luxury, so let's hope it does not get abused so we can keep it on the table as a viable option.

@2dxm+1c8Hg0yU And I do agree w/ you. If COVID showed companies anything, it was how much you can really get done while not having to go the office and how few people are really needed to run a company.
All this COVID stuff, even this delta variant, isn’t the real reason we don’t want to go to the office. I’m all saying is the whining about having to come back to the office is old & childish.
Are the things within Apache not going well? Between morale and lawsuits and the true/untrue things you read on here or elsewhere, probably not. But as I said earlier, we all got bonuses, some got raises (not merit but equal pay position raises), had over a year off to work 2-3 hours a day if even that, saved your vacation days while still going on vacations, and still have a job. You think people looking for a job wouldn’t ki-l for all that above plus even now 3-4 days a week w/ full pay?
Some people had to work the whole time, like nothing ever happened even when COVID was new and scary. All I’m saying is, just be thankful and stop complaining about it because God forbid you would have to have full 9-5, M-F, sometimes weekends job instead of what you have now.

: @2liz+1c8Hg0yU… that’s really all you got? Supposedly I’m proving your points? Lol. It’s actually kind of scary and worrisome that you are so aware of when people are actually on vacation and when they are supposed to be working… almost like you have access to their calendars or emails or ?? And yes as a matter of fact we stopped making non essential trips to stores so curbside it is.

@2drv+1c8Hg0yU You are a roll w/ proving points. As for this delta variant, did you personally stop going out and being around people?

@2bya+1c8Hg0yU… seriously! I picture this person being on their HOA board and being that one person that personally measures every blade of grass and fines everything that he deems wrong! He probably scours social media looking for evidence of people being somewhere other than at their house because after all we aren’t supposed to have a life outside of Apache!

@2koe+1c8Hg0yU… I’m not supporting tour point. Vaccination status 3-4 months ago was different than vaccination status now, it’s a completely different ballgame with this Delta variant. Before, vaccinated people weren’t getting infected at the rate they are today nor was there evidence they could pass on the virus or that their viral load was anywhere near unvaccinated people. Did we get spoiled, yes we did but we also showed that we could work just as effectively from home as from the office… the work kept going, things still got done and from what I have seen got done quicker and more efficiently as people wanted to show that this was a great benefit that would keep and attract people to Apache. However, leadership has shown us that they aren’t forward thinking and progressive and thus will never get the high caliber employee’s they so wish to hire… as evidenced by rehiring a has been from the old Alpine High days!

@2kro+1c8Hg0yU Again, thx for supporting my point. If you are vaccinated and feel comfortable around friends, why can’t you come to the office? If you can go out for drinks, sporting events, concerts, etc, why can’t you come to the office? And I think we can both agree, you are really stretching w/ the posting pictures a year later for trips.
Bottom line, nobody wants to come the office because they want to take advantage of the situation. Who spent 8-9 hours working while at home? Nobody, myself included. Like I said, get over and be real with the situation. You/we all got spoiled and now some people demand that its their right.

@2zbj+1c8Hg0yU… gee, could it be possible that they traveled after the got vaccinated or he-l I don’t know, maybe everybody they met up with was vaccinated? Or I don’t know maybe they were meeting outdoors where it is less likely to be transmitted… there are a lot of reasons why/how people got together. Not to mention that at a certain point last year and earlier this year rates declined quite a bit to where people were going out a bit more. And as far as posting during the week… there is this nifty thing where your camera saves pictures/videos and lets you upload them whenever you want. Just because people are uploading pics in the middle of the week doesn’t mean those events are taking place right then and there but then again based on your comments and your affinity for the office you might not know how modern technology works these days due to your age. The point is that being stuck with 900 other people in an office there is a greater likelihood of catching covid, that’s where the worry lies but you go ahead and trust the HSE department because we all know they have employee’s safety in mind rather than the companies.

@2lrx+1c8Hg0yU Yeah ok…so people are so worried about COVID and having to come back to the office, but yet are totally fine traveling or meeting up with friends. Thanks for supporting my point!
And it’s not a second property they own, it’s a place they visited in the middle of the week or vacation rental which people make clear
in their social media post.

@2zkp+1c8Hg0yU… did your dense little brain not think that maybe the people posting “vacation” pics decided to work from home from another location… maybe a home town or a beach rental or he’ll I don’t know maybe a second home for those that can afford it and we’re posting pics of what they were up to after work or on the weekends? What an id--t to assume that people posting those pics couldn’t have effectively moved to another city for a period of time and explored it on their free time. People like are the reason why things don’t change… you are probably one of those people that has to be at the office because that’s all you have ever known and any believe that when people work from home nobody does their job when in fact studies have shown that people who worked from home were more productive and happier and thus did a better overall job for the company. We got our bonuses, kept our jobs and everything else you mentioned because everybody did just as good a job working from home. As for telling people to look for other jobs… you must be hiding in your office because I’ve heard of a ton of people that have already left for jobs that offer more flexibility and I can guarantee you that many more will probably leave in the next few months while you are locked up in your office commuting half your life away.

Why you mad? Such hostility. Either disgruntled former employee or someone who can't WFH. It's what we were given. Deal with it

Get over it. Where do people think they even have an argument in being mad at having to come back to the office? 80% of the company was off for over a year “working from home,” while posting pictures on social media on trips..yet here we are in Aug. and people still have all their vacation days.
And yet still, 80% of the company only has to work 4 days a week w/ Friday being “mobile,” with a few people only working 3 days a week and still complaining. All those people who did mostly nothing for over a year kept their full pay, their bonus, raises and yet still whine.
Some people never had the chance to “work from home” and have been at the whole time. Go cry somewhere else or find another company where you’ll actually have to work 8-9 hours a day and be at the office 5 days a week.

@1xsf+1c8Hg0yU… $10 bucks says they will keep track of who all isn’t feeling safe and working from home so that they can be ostracized later on and be the first to be let go if that time comes! Or make your life even more miserable than it already is working there and pretty much force you to quit!

I hear you, I do my best work from home as well. I dread going to the office because it’s just like you described. And now with these a-s backwards precautions it’s even worse… can’t pass each other in the hallways, can’t be in each other’s offices, pretty much 2 people max in the break rooms… what’s the freaking point of being in the office? Just going to go and sit in our offices with our doors closed hoping we don’t catch covid… all so that BJ, JJ, and everybody else can say that they have bodies in the office! So much for being premier and being different from the pack… guess people aren’t Apache’s best asset as JC likes to tout because they are showing they really don’t care about us.

It's so depressing when I go to the office. Vibrant, fun and challenging. Now it's like continously walking on eggshells in an insane asylum. Drab, boring and quiet. I do my best work from home, so let's make it happen!
