Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

We've talked about the Frat Boy Culture long before the media wake up

Look at the posts on TheLayoff.com going back to 2016 and you will see that we, the employees have exposed the Frat Boy Culture on this site long before it hit the news cycle and before the any sacking took place. There was nobody to call, there was nobody to contact - the fear of retaliation was real.

We could not do Facebook as they would track us down, we could not call the media as they would not listen... I hope that 100s of posters that were outlining the abuse and injustice on this site over last two years at least get a tiny bit of satisfaction that both exec departures bring.

Stuff like this is why I became self employed. Company loyalty is a thing of the past. So many multinational corporations view you as an expendable tool and not a human being. There are a few good ones still left, but the problem is so pervasive in our current globalized economy that employees have to protect themselves by assuming exploitation is always just around the corner.

The worse is when new HR and ER people are brought in to push the latest initiatives when they themselves have no clue about what the culture is about. You try and tell them that the Manager is operating outside of the boundaries and all of a sudden you're the black sheep and will be black listed.

You can guarantee that your comments will be shared with your manager and your manager's manager. Your career will be ruined by these ER and HR business partners

It’s too big. There are too many. There would really be no VPs left if they were serious.. but they are in it too.

The frat boys are a cancer inside our company with MH1being the biggest disgrace.

Keep posting no matter what. They will not silence anybody ever again. At least people can spread the word thru the social media. Oh my macho Nike... #metoo

Agreed..."HR is useless, and Employee Relations even worse"

Let's see how the likely flood of recent submissions by employees are handled.

I'll keep my expectations low.

Yup, this is the time to speak out. I’m a man and witnessed a male ***hole “colleague” be abusive to women in meetings, etc. even when they went to HR as a group they hit a wall.

I even offered to speak to HR myself about it, and the women strongly wanted me to, in order to bolster their case, but HR wouldn’t talk to me. I wanted to kick his *** instead but obviously that isn’t an option.

Eventually the ***hole was quietly ushered out but it took way too long.

I was there for over 15 yrs. HR is useless, and Employee Relations even worse. Too afraid to do the right thing. Kudos to everyone who stepped up and spoke.
