Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

I'm one of the few people who is not overjoyed to be leaving

I have an amazing manager who has been doing his best to make my and my team's work easier and to lessen our burdens as much as he can - even when he personally gets in trouble over it. He's just one man so he can't undo what the company is doing but he does all he can to minimize its effects. He is the best example of what a good manager looks like. I got an offer and I'm leaving before the end of the month, but I know that I won a jackpot in corporate America when it comes to managers and that doesn't happen twice. I just wanted to leave this here to tell you that good managers still exist here, even if the company is doing all it can to weed them out.

I’m a Director and do what I can to put my people first. I realize it’s a challenging work environment right now but so are most other places. I do what I can to stop the distractions, focus on growing the business, and do what’s right for my employees. Maybe it doesn’t get better but maybe it does. Try to focus on what you can control.

I work for Citrix (not SF) and have a fantastic boss (Director). The problem is the next level up… and then the level up from there… completely inept. Until that changes, then nothing changes.
