Good people that work there. Crazy Bill been with the company 50 years!
I closed 4 stores in my time so this was expected, as I warned all of them earlier this year.
Great manager, one of Kmarts best. 25+ years with the company.
Did his best to manage an important store. HR was the most wonderful person I’ve ever met. Another 25+ year veteran.

Great leads. People that cared. Lots of Mikes. All good people.

My love goes out to all of them.

Merry Xmas, Eddie Lampert!

@1jhl+18i50GpD Actually my friend that was also a co-worker at the Little Caesar's said he ran into someone that, supposedly mind you, works for Walmart and was actually looking at the building. Could be just lying but honestly, even as a smaller Walmart, it would make A K–lING up here in Big Bear.

Both the tourists and locals would flock to it almost instantly.

Ya, Multi-Billion Dollar company WM is going to send people to "look at the building", like it's a bodega or something. They obviously never heard of google maps or anything like that.
It is never good to just make stuff just for the sake of having something to post. Rumor around town, LMAO. You've probably never been to that town.
Billion Dollar companies don't send "them thar people" out yonder, prospecting for buildings with a pair of binoculars, LMAO. They have corporate lawyers, and sh–, who close deals. This isn't a John Wayne movie.

This was a good call by LP, the Big Bear location had one of the highest levels of shrink.

Any word what is replacing it? Rumor in town has been that Walmart had people out looking at the building recently.

It is the last Seritage owned store in the US mainland.

If it’s true hopefully more will follow.

If confirmed, this would close the last Seritage-owned store (of either brand) within the 50 US states.

@1npx+18i50GpD I worked at that LC for years and let me tell you, that has been up FOR A LONG TIME

Their hours have been horribly cut. Su-Th 4PM-7PM, Fr-Sa 1PM-7PM. Trust me, they have been looking for people for a lot longer than the past month and probably DIDN'T want to hire anyone. They didn't shut down this place because it was one of the few parts of the store that made them a lot of money.

Meh, don't celebrate yet. I haven't seen any links yet, and that store is hiring for their restaurant. They would not do that if closing, because usually, that's the first thing to go:

Woops, I meant "IF Big Bear Lake Kmart", not "IS", below. Typo, sorry.

Link? I won't count it until I see the link, but just in case it's true, it's a promising sign because they usually close in bunches and hopefully we can bop out a bunch very soon! In case it happens to come out true,

34 Kmarts left in the mall,
34 Kmarts left!
Is Big Bear Lake Kmart should happen to fall,
33 Kmarts left in the mall!

BAM BAM BAM!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But to be sure, Jack, wherever you are, could you verify this? I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, although this would be a nice, early Christmas gift! :)
