If that's not some shady BS..

Sabre’s point for hiring contractors . There’s no extra cost for them. Contractors gets no company benefits and no employees payroll taxes and Sabre can let them go at any time.

@1oda+15xWS2UH "... you can probably charge them double your old hourly wage."

Let that one sink in and you'll have an idea of what you're actually worth. The primary contractor is making money. Probably charges Sabre between 20 and 30% for your head. Simple math. 😁

I've been a contractor within a Google Partner org. It's worth a great deal, and my bottom line proves it.

Give it some real thought. Google has specific requirements, which they pass on to the partner firm. If that firm treasures Google's partnership then they're going to make sure they hire the best. If the call was the real-deal then be exceptionally proud if you're hired. Don't FUBAR it.

In the past month I have received emails from recruiters for contractor jobs. First time before the furlough was announced. The second was last week.
The first time it was for a 3rd party vendor and I would be paid by Google working on Sabre projects.
The second time was for Sabre. As soon as the recruiter found out I was a former Sabre employee, they advised me we'll get back with you . Since then crickets.

Don't get too excited. You're not going to be working "with Google" really. Google is just paying for some contractors to work on TPF offload development for a couple of years. After those couple of years end then either Sabre will continue paying for it, or Google will, or both will, until it either gets completely finished or it's abandoned.

It's not like you'll be working hand-in-hand with Google PhDs on achieving quantum supremacy or anything earth shattering.

A chance to work with Google, even as a contractor. What a horrible opportunity!!

Google is paying for it, not Sabre.

The ironic part is you can probably charge them double your old hourly wage.
