Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Overglamorization of long hours everyday without the reward, isn’t working.

The constant message of “times are tough, just continue to put in extra extra long hours everyday with no compensation of a large bonus or raise” is not working. No one feels this blind cult following loyalty of put in way more than 8 hours per day.

I work maybe an hour a week… in Finance… somehow I was spared from layoffs.

@1tzz+1sgcLihi believe me, I do work for Citi. The reality is big corporations stopped paying good money many years ago. Now the only way to get more money is either climb the corporate ladder or have a side hustle. And I do not like brown-nosing.

My friend, don't make things bad for others WFH. Keep your side hustle a secret. Plus shmucks like me work 6-8 hrs/day from home. I really need a side hustle.

I too am getting a little tired of hearing "be glad you have a job" instead of getting compensated for my hard work. My raises have not covered the increase in cost of living for the past 10 years, its a joke. If I were not so close to retirement age I would hit the road for sure.

I barely do 6 hours on average when in the office and approx. 0 hours when at home 😄. Using the WFH time to work on my side hustle which already started making money. Fu-k big corporations.
