Has anyone heard about September layoffs? It’s been pretty quiet but I feel like it’s coming soon.

Redeployment assistance classes scheduled on the redeployment page for 10/3 10/4 and 10/5
Red Alert! On the UHG layoff forum they called the "redeployment" as "talent mobility".
Check it out..... Everything is under one "happy family" NOT.
Check it out.

“Change is the future, there is no escaping it”.
How’s this for change, how about we “change” what their compensation package is to something more reasonable and in line with the rest of the workforce? Rather than 200x what the rest of us make.
On Sparq search "redeployment." On the redeployment page underneath the recorded presentation you'll see the dates.
@1nyg+1oFAxZJg
Where did you see the new redeployment assistance sessions/office hours? I don't see anything upfront on Sparq
Given this org is accustomed to unethical business practices, it’s not a surprise how they handle RIF.
Phase1- RIF (quiet) in waves to avoid WARN act
or Press
Phase2- mid management forced ranking (down grade performance rating) to avoid paying severance/unemployment pay out
Phase 3 - RIFs caught media attention. Oops!
Phase 4 - Redeployment to force resignation to avoid paying severance/unemployment.
In the meantime, the top C level continued to pocket more bonuses and stock options..
Yes that is exactly what they want.
No severance if you're forced to resign, and that's what they would want.
What was the comment about severance? Did MM address that?
Sounds like they dont want to pay severance packages
If you get an email and you dont want to move from your current job then you are let go?
Is it notable that a new redeployment assistance session and office hours were scheduled for the first week in October? Or do these regularly occur every couple of weeks?
Takeaways from the meeting:
*”Talent Mobility”: make sure the right person with the right skills is in the right job at the right time.
*Change is the future, and there is no escaping it.
*Send questions up the pipeline through manager, and FAQs will be sent down. Meetings and instructions to follow.
Hate it. All of it.
I am very confused. If we WANT to keep doing what we are doing, we eventually cannot, our teams will get split apart because we will have to be moved to other roles eventually? I personally am very happy doing what I'm doing
The call has been moved to 3 today
To anyone who got the call invite with MM: can you access My Leave Management right now is it 'out of service'.......
Up this is you are stressing about the rescheduled call for later today.
Can anybody confirm if the call is going to be a RIF?
It’s delayed to later today because everyone could not get into the Teams call.
Any details from Matt Michaels’ call?
They are bringing Change Healthcare employees over to Optum. Not sure what that means for current employees but I believe that Michael Mathews is with Change healthcare
The only one I heard about is 10/4/23 but who knows around here. Be prepared and start looking for other opportunities outside of this unpredictable environment.
If laid off can you please inform of your segment or job title?
So we all taking a sick day tomorrow?
I also got the meeting email. I knew immediately knew what was happening. It's pretty upsetting, to be honest.
I think its supposed to be Matthew Michaels hes GM management.
I got the same email business update
I got an email about a business update. Wonder what that's about?
So who is Michael Matthews?
Michael Matthews just sent out an email I'm sure we are being let go. Hundreds are on the email.
They need more money for stock buybacks, so yes.
Just got a quick business meeting tomorrow from someone I don't know.
Why not provide details on what teams/departments for ones who are commenting below
Currently work in Rx, hiring freeze company-wide in Optum. Heard rumours of layoffs even offshore. Think the company is losing big money in certain quarters
Some big meetings in my department happening this week, the word is not good, but I'm only told minimum. Best to always expect to be let go.
Respectfully, going forward for the rest of this year and next year you should always be prepared for the inevitable to happen and your card being pulled for layoffs. As we have all seen at this point, it does not matter if you’re a high performer, average performer, or a low performer. Everyone who is in a grade of 25 to about 32-ish is completely expendable, and will get flushed away easily. So I encourage you to take your job day by day, and do not take this so serious, since we are not taken serious, in terms of a professional and mature workforce.
I've heard rumblings of continued layoffs through the end of the year.
