Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

New associates are favored

Anyone notice how it seems that people who are at the 3 year mark of their time at the firm, are moving faster? Not sure if this is why people leave companies after 6-7 years… but new employees seem to be promoted faster and get picked for better loans etc.

I’m sorry… to the one who said younger workers are better. Your inexperience and lack of education is really showing. One day you will understand. No, newer employees are not better for the firm, they are only cheaper.

Good! They want to keep people there, they have to help them. At 3 years they’re not that far into the sunk cost of the 401k vesting schedule that leaving isn’t that big of a loss. Anyone there longer has been playing the game too long and probably too old anyway.
