Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Former colleague here

I was laid off last round. I found a new job quite fast after I was booted, and I like it much better. It pays better, but more importantly, is more enjoyable and I actually get to have a life. And no, I’m nothing special, my resume is not particularly outstanding, I’m average Joe. Why am I saying all these things? Well, coming from Crown and now being elsewhere, I can only recommend that you change jobs. Crown is not worth it. And there are greener pastures out there.

I was laid off in August, and I was just offered a job this morning. Your skills and experience matter. We always fear the unknown, but knowing, what I know now, I wish I had left sooner without the Aug 30th date.

One thing I have found out with the interviews I have had is that I have no idea where C C gets their 'Fair Market Value" for our salaries! Many states now have 'Pay Transparency Laws' https://www.govdocs.com/pay-transparency-laws/ for job postings and let me tell you, I was GROSSLY underpaid.

I realize familiarity is a hard thing to let go of, but you cannot 'afford' not to make your resume current and put it out there!

Same. I left on my own w/o job do to the stress and games. Found a great job that I love and best of all my Crown "bonus" is now part of my base salary. No more dealing w managers holding 15% of my pay hostage for their cousins and in-laws.

OP- What market are you in if you don't mind sharing?

Same experience here. Tough job market, but I found a great company to work for in a different industry. My last year at Crown was miserable, glad I’m done with the constant drama and horrible leadership there.

ID: @1nwx+1u1GtbSC------you missed the point of OP's posted completely. OP is letting those still left know that it is not the end of the world to be laid off----and in some cases a huge blessing.

Right there with you, left and it has been a massive breath of fresh air ever since. Zero regrets. This is an unhealthy environment.
