Anyone care to explain what is the difference of these two? How will 3M Forward achieve things that aren't delivered from Advanced 3M previously?

Just attended 3M forward virtual fair. As much as it’s interesting to hear about new products, lets not make it sound like we turned water to wine. Its ur job to innovate!! Also super poorly organized!
Funnily, outside of the US, Advance 3M moved many roles from BG level into Division, then they reported into the global Division. I was surprised when I heard that it was the opposite in the US with many functions going into BG level, which is now being reversed.
Jaysh will explain the difference next week. Dont worry.
Honestly, AI might be the only form of 'intelligence' left in the C-suite.
Agreed. Just another meaningless message from the Captain of the SS 3Manic.
Mike Roman in the near future:
“We’re utilizing AI to shuffle/rename the org charts”
About all the c-suite is good for.
Just another way to rearrange the deck chairs on the sinking ship….
Lots of fanciful program initiatives
“3M Forward” is a marketing strategy that is a feeble attempt to distract the outside world from PFAS and CAEv2 earplugs. It’s a messaging strategy without substance and years too late.
Come on, the spelling was a joke...
As noted, 3M Forward is a branding strategy - An attempt to tell the external world what we plan do do with the core technology platforms. It is going to be difficult to do this as the company may be broken up into pieces.
Another major difference - Advance is spelled A. D. V. A. N. C. E. Forward is F.O.R.W.A.R.D.
Putting a new color lipstick on the same pig.
Advance3M was the name they gave to the Business group, area model they set up (And then un-did it earlier this year) it had nothing to do with advancing the actual business.
3M Forward is a new branding strategy - An attempt to tell the external world what we plan to do with various technology platforms. It is basically just recycled material - Things we already did 10 years ago, and nice sounding stuff like Climate tech, but the actual business growth from it remains to be seen.
