No way is Disney going to sell ABC, especially not to a company like nexstar. There’s still too much value in news and speculation is just tabloid rumors with no merit.
Iger and the board might believe they are going to have $60B to burn on parks over the next 10 years but even Wall Street knows they’re nuts.
The plan is to just stay quiet on ESG initiatives and hope customers don’t realize they’re being more subtle about it (Iger: we are going to quiet the noise in culture wars).
Doesn’t seem like a strategy I’d be confident in but I guess we’ll see.
