Salaried pension is not frozen. The company stops contributing to your pension after 35 years. So until you hit the 35yr mark the company contributes to the GRP.

Salaried pension was already frozen at the end of 2019. Pension based on what you were making at the end of that year. Contributory payments suspended after year end 2019.
Skateboard design is not rocket science. Combustion engines are way more complex than a battery array (the battery design notwithstanding). Will need less PD, less prototype, less union manufacturing if we go electric. However, the migration is all about $ as it always is. As Japan just said, if you convert all our cars to electric then we will blackout in the summer. Also there is the whole coal discussion. Environmental damage from heavy metal mining, recycling and the whole value chain has to be done.
Anyway, long story short, there are too many people, making too many problems, not enough love to go around. Can't you see this is the land of confusion.
None of this is real!
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
In November of 2018 during a Town Hall with Jim Holland. He came right out and said during the Q&A , Make no Mistake there will be a 25% HC reduction in PD worldwide over the next three years. Now I suspect since we had another re-org (seems every 18 months we do this) and it is still underway the cuts in 21CY will most likely happen latter part of the year as things settle down. Yes the morale is in the tank. And yes Ford does have it share of politics make no mistake about that. But I also feel they will try to go beyond the 25% mark. Actions like freezing the pension for salaried workers will probably happen inside of 5 years. Interesting to see how that impacts the workforce? especially if the job market is good? In the past when you came off of a launch you went right too a new program. Well that does not seem to be the case this time.
"Work your 8 hours and let the rest fall on the floor. Hold the leadership and inept/lazy coworkers accountable."
LOL!! Good luck with that!! Inep Leadership/Co-workers have the means to get protected.
To be successful in the work place you have to treat the work place like you are in Highschool. As long as you are one of the "cool kids" and in the right click, you will be ok. No need to stay after school after 8 hours. Performance is not that important.
Anyone who works 12 hour days to make up for poor leadership and inept/lazy coworkers is a fool.

"Don’t the need workers to support launches underway? Mustang bronco. Why are they still cutting?"
Simple, the people still remaining will have to work 12 hour days and endure a high stress job. Not to mention walk on water and turn water into wine.

Man, this is straight out BS. Go back in the history and there are multiple of the same thing.
Yes, there will be some overall reduction in 2021 but things could be much much worse.
I realize who is really working for Ford and who is not by who writes what on the topics.
I am not a plant and I have confidence in Ford.
Trolls go find a bridge to live under!
Yep this is true : @1kuw+18p9mvJv I had a supervisor, mainframe infrastructure, who begged for a package because he’d built a new home in Traverse City and sold his home south of Dearborn. Management said no and then took away all his staff and gave him nothing to do. He left on his own less than a year later.
I've heard rumors they're expecting 100% turnover in all staff by 2090. Very serious if true.
Approval to hire 500 people? So what? They always have "approval" doesn't mean they will actually hire people. The job boards(internal and external) are full of positions posted. Most positions have been posted for months if not years.
To Insidegal - guess your L4 forgot to tell my L4, as last week he just mentioned he had approval for hiring 50 people.
Are things it good - yes. Are things as bad as a depression- No. go troll elsewhere.....
30% salary cut 12/21/2021. This will be incremental an continuous until the numbers line up. There is no business case for current levels. Fords acumen is slow and quiet to not upset too many too quickly. A depression is here we just haven’t realized it yet.
Time to get rid of the salaried employees taking credits for the work of others. They are obviously very smart doing so, but they don't add plus value to Ford ... or any companies.
I have heard that a surefire way of NOT getting a package is to say that you want one. If you want to be included in a separation, the best thing to do is to not say anything. Does anyone know if this is true or "I know a guy who worked with a guy who lives next door to....." bs?
According to a source in HR, it will continue through the 1st and 2nd quarter.
Source??
What departments?
1,400 down. 10,000 to go!
