Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Only ivy grads should be a leader

Citi’s problem is that there are not many ivy grads and those guys from overseas who have fishy diploma become a leader. Only ivy grads can save Citi.

I agree with the US experience comment. The asian mindset conflicts with US values and norms.

Also, people who attended Cornell, Wharton, Harvard, and NYU all seem to lack leadership traits. They lie to their teams and are condescending POS.

I have a MBA from Wharton and also have $5 Million in my trust fund. Extensive network with similarly situated people across various industries. I'm a member of the Harvard Club and am an influential member of society in general. Am I who you are looking for?

Post ID: @1mwn+1sPAE30d That's because people Regress towards a mean. It's also a Pygmalion effect. If Columbia grads or whatever college/university grads would normally be at Levels 10, 9, or 8 in GS, JPMC, BofA, Morgan etc., they will end up at lower Levels (3, 4, 5, 6) because Citi is at Level 1 or possibly even negative (infinity). ROTFLMFAO!

My favorite quote (more or less) from the Simpson's movie: "Two things they don't teach you in Harvard business school. How to handle failure and how to use a shotg-n. Something I'm going to change right now" as he points the g-n at Homer.

Probably true of all the Ivy's - so many of their graduates born to wealth and privilege that they can't handle the real world the rest of us live in.

There are more Ivy League grads at Citi than anyone would think. Booksmart does not equal the ability to get things done on the ground. Talk about seeing a bunch of things that are simple made really hard when they’re not. I’m actually shocked at the number of people at Citi with multiple Ivy degrees.

Citi is not an US run company at the top.
It is a mess..even when the US folks ran it..
Work at the top of the bank and see firsthand.

No sure about Ivy League - but Citi has way too many foreign born/educated leaders who lack real US experience. This is especially true in USPB. You cannot win when you don't understand the market and have the local knowledge to complete. The US is not Asia.
