Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Replace Yammer/The Forum with This Site

Here is where you get honest feedback. Most employees just kiss up on Yammer. The ELT does not really want the truth. All employees should migrate here and report on what is actually happening. Continued cost cutting will improve operating income in the short term. ELT will get rewarded as the stock goes up. But revenue is flat. No long-term future for the average employee.

You’re assuming the ELT cares. Dangerous assumption.

This is the only place employees are honest. The ELT should start their day looking at this site to really get insight on the issues employees have.

Marketing at it again--- if that happens then M.e. will just have the digital team fill this site up with stupid questions as if it's a current/former employee looking for enlightenment. The mention of "continued cost cutting" (aka layoffs)/"ELT rewarded as the stock price goes up" made the OP lose all credibility.

@1mtq+1cv0NQDf I concur. Especially that the ar-e kissing has never been truly mandatory. I felt nauseated at many fads: the BLM donation proposal, the entire allyship masquerade (I did read Woke Inc. following a proposal in this forum and yes it's worth the read, it makes this kind of corporate hypocrisy shine in broad daylight), the pronouns circus. But nobody ever forced me to actively like, subscribe or otherwise assert any allegiance to any ideology I don't like. Yes, there is a soft group pressure and people succumb to it but nobody has yet pulled out a threat like in other parts of the world yet... unfortunately as innumerable quotes from wise people say, more or less the same message: the sleep of reason produces monsters and freedom is only that which one is willing to fight for, so it's only ours to lose. Interestingly, this dogmatic, fact-ignoring stance of the ELT which defines their positioning about CSR seems to have also spilled into the core business, because people are not only afraid to speak truth to power about blatant political partisanship, but more worryingly about the direction of travel of the core product, about the cloud journey, about the as a service process and other such trivial fundamentals. Sic transit gloria mundi...

In a way, watching colleagues fall on their knees and ingratiate themselves was the most disappointing thing about working at Teradata. I don't expect much from incompetent and delusional executives but my peers trying to curry their favor was just sad.

It’s delusional to think there is open transparent communications at Teradata. I agree employees should share on this channel instead. They say the surveys are anonymous but we know that is not true. The ultimate kiss up move is to put your pronouns in your email header.

"Most employees just kiss up on Yammer."

Totally. Yappers.
