Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Where would the job losses happen?

The world still runs on oil but we all know oil is a fading business. Shell is a multi-billion dollar corporation set in the old ways, so re-investing and adapting to renewables is going to be very difficult, if not impossible. Sad but true.
For right now, the most important question is where the job cuts will be?

i think a large amount of layoffs (outside the 7-9k previously disclosed) will come from moving jobs to SBOs... i bet the majority of the functions will go there... who knows they might even create more SBOs?

Men will lose more jobs than women! Gender is a factor, so are many other things that advantage certain groups

Divestments are not part of the identified 7-9000. About 30% in upstream and equal in p&t.
