Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

RTO, again, has been and will continue to be just the attrition policy

I wouldn’t be surprised if they evolve the RTO requirements to the point at which nobody can meet them and just quit. RTO is costly for employees as it is. It’s not a smart way to go about getting rid of people, because that’s how you also end up losing workers you actually need along with those you don’t necessarily. But hey, they can do their thing, I’ll do mine and just go elsewhere.

I've gotta stay because I gotz no skills anyone else wants and disability affects me learning new things (such a struggle). With noes savings from taking care of family, highs rent, car repairs, emergencies, etc etc etc, Iz no choice but to stay and spend my weekends looking for other work I qualify for, and trying not to lose time with kids while their'll still so young.

@1ixw+1uueDepB just for phase 1 countries? In Svk we will have the opt-in in November and the whole fun starts in Q1, more infos to come in October but I guess it will be the same as for previously for the phase 1 countries, that we can just decide if we want to go hybrid or remote

Feb 2025. If you live in a 50 mile radius of a Dell campus your status will update to a hybrid role.

"I think a lot of folk are not quitting"

True. I think alot are quiet quitting till they get paid to leave. I don't blame them one bit.
Like the poster said before no upside with working at dell.

I think a lot of folk are not quitting (even though they hate the current policies and corporate bulls--t). They stay because they have been there for many years and hope to get a good payoff when they get selected for WFR. I know - I was one of them, 20 years service.

There is really no upside working Dell at this point. Not one.

Yes, I agree that these policies will be more draconian until enough people quit. I'm sticking around till my wife gives birth then will be using some of my paternity leave to look/interview for new positions. This is a sinking ship and has been for years now.
