Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Another allowance cut

SAP has just announced that the New Graduate breath mint allowance has been slashed by 50%! This means that employees under 26 years old will now be reimbursed a maximum of $500 per month.

There has been an immense outpouring of anger at this decision. This anger spilled over into a recent all-hands call, during which employees stressed the need for immaculately fresh breath when collaborating with colleagues, networking and breathing in the SAP Culture. Julia White smiled a lot, mumbled some nonsensical words about AI and then presented a (Very much non-AI) branded powerpoint deck to demonstrate that our younger team members can ration their breath mints for in-office days only!

Christian Klein’s sage advice was “Just do not eat garlic and the allowance will be enough to keep your breath fresh”. Scott Russell opined something that was designed to be vaguely inspiring and uplifting; As to be expected (And as usual), this fell very flat!

Shares of Mars Wrigley, owner of the Altoids brand, dipped 5% on this news. A restructuring of the Altoids division is ezpected soon.

@1mih+1rMuTDey I didn't post this but to be candid, this is bordering on brilliant satire. The over entitled prima donnas that slither through SAP's offices... they aspire to achieve mediocrity, working transactionally towards meeting KPI's that don't actually convert to any success for any single business unit. While the so-called leadership of this company talks about layoffs amidst record profits, ghoulish little stooges prowling the corridors of Walldorf, Prague, and Buenos Aires complain about RTO, the lack of travel budget, and how bad the li---r was at last year's company holiday party. It is correct to say that this is all about families and futures... the original poster was calling out those "future leaders" who focus on utter nonsense. Anyone who can't see what is really ki-ling this company is too much of a fool to understand that the original post was absolutely, positively on the money.

Is this post a joke? There was an allowed to buy mint candy? And some self entitled young fool is crying becuse it was cut to $500 per month? If this is a real thing it is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of that SAP even gives a penny for someone to buy candy!

Not funny and what is the point of taking the time for such non-value add comment when layoffs is a serious matter and impact families and livelihoods. Maybe the OP is on the spectrum and has no social graces. Apologies to those on the spectrum for the comparison!
