Speak now this is a safe place to air our grievances, Fiber and Tower both have a lot of issues and personnel that should have been fired for bad management and stealing a long time ago. We have a boat load of bad managers in HOU and shady people in the southern states. Corruption everywhere you look!

G/C’s DiD NOT do work in my networks.. not until this lame contractor model that does not work and is costing us millions. I come from a culture where we ACTUALLY do work, sweep our own jumpers, replace our OWN parts on our network's Actual Troubleshooting, those guys that used GC’s for everything are part of the reason we are in the position we are in now!! My sweep and pim gear actually gets used, Remember the real Crown castle culture.

@1mnw+1uZYPt57 Laughable! BTS issues? You mean the carriers BTS. Easy to check if there is signal present or not. Also the combiners and antennae, GCs do all that for you.
I want to add one more thing to a earlier post. I have no problems with any of the other fiber techs and small cell guys, none of the tower guys I know has any problem with them. And I don't know about any other areas but in my area we had a week or so we work together to get to know each other those guys were cool no problems. They only s*** I hear talked is here.
FiberTechs, small cell techs give me a f** break you guys whine like a bunch of babies.
First of all d-mbasses Crown was a tower company. You are the one who got sold we are the ones that bought you quit telling me how f* great you are. if you are so f great then why did you get sold and is about to get sold again. And also the Tower tech job was a lot different 10,20 years ago. Any tech that's been here more than 10 years knows thier s** It isn't their fault the crown has turned the job into what they turned it into. And if you are that great then you shouldn't have any problems finding a new fiber or small cell job if the sell goes through and you find yourself looking.
SCN techs know little in comparison to who tower techs? (Landscapers) or fiber techs? (Shooting light).. woah that’s hard… try what Real scn techs do. We do RF, Light, splice, deal with BTS issues, power levels, combiners, antennas, we do it all as compared to any other “techs” in any other departments.. Break fix requires real troubleshooting..
Tower side is so good that tenured PMs let go last go round can’t get hired as PMs anywhere else because they aren’t qualified to be real PMs
@1xuu+1uZYPt57 SCN wanted to merge with Towers but Towers didn't want it. They didn't want SCN to see how easy Towers had it and how much they got paid for doing less and knowing less. That's the reason SCN was forced on Fiber. That's also why the SCN " techs" job titles were changed, to bring their pay up since CC was paying them less. Rightfully so since SCN " techs" know very little in comparison.
I can speak from the tower side that's stealing stuff is real. Corporate knows it EMT people buddies with manager. Had some sham investigation, was even questioned about it but nothing was done.
So true about "likednin". It's sickening what is posted and I feel bad for those applying for a job there not knowing what is really going on in this company. What is disheartening is the ones that "like or heart" the posting who are still there.
That's not true in the least, fiber is losing money
Funniest part about both previous posts is the focus on fiber. Fiber isn’t losing money. Is it extremely profitable? No, but it isn’t losing money. Profits would also look a lot better if SC loses weren’t being hidden under fibers financials
@1hgr+1uZYPt57 This person nails it. I’ve came to crown via sc. scn was never against towers most of the time we wanted to join towers. There was a brief moment where we were going to merge. Once sc merged with network it was horrible. It was like working for a different company. There are some good people but overall atmosphere of fiber was we hate crown. Just lets us do what we have been doing even if that means losing money. There was no desire to integrate the companies. Then scn was forced to use all the old bad systems and ways and was pushed to bc more like fiber then like crown. Know a lot of people are holding on to the slim hope they keep small cells and they can somehow stay.
I’ve been here a Long time. Going on about 10 years.. I’ve seen the ups and the downs, what I will say is that Purchasing all those failing fiber company’s and the letting them run ramped through Crown Castle is worst Decision that has been ever made.. The Fiber debacle will go down in history as what puts the Dagger in the heart of this once Great company. What happened to the yearly kickoff meetings/all hands, all inclusive resort stays. Yes for those of you who were not here, Every year Crown would rent out a entire resort and bring us out for a some days of “training” RNR all expenses paid.. ect.. that’s when this company was profitable prior to Fiber.. fiber has pitted towers vs fiber and fiber vs das/ small cell and so on. We used to work together as a cohesive unit.. it was never tower vs SCN that was until fiber came in and continued to run as their own entity..sunesis, fiber net ect.. Hopefully Fiber goes away and we can get back to doing business as The real Crown Castle.. a company I once loved and people used to Want to work for.

Anyhow...Its too little too late with Rapid...would've been good if we had it in 2016. It's def. not same company anymore...can't even look forward to bonus after last year...maybe we'll see a Going out of Business sale sign

Time would be better spent preparing for the worst while hoping for the best. No matter what happens, I hope all hard-working, contributing employees, who are true assets to the company have a safe landing, even if it’s not with CC.
