Will all go down at the next BOD meeting.
Have heard this from a most credible source.

Gould? Bring it on!!! As brutal as it may get, I'm ready for some unambiguous, no-nonsense action. There is NOTHING that has made sense since Aug 2019. There is ZERO communication from this company, everything is smoke and mirrors. Then when a decision is finally taken, its the most counter-intuitive, most ridiculous choice that could have been made. I'm applying for jobs as fast as I can, but unless they will lay me off (PLEASE!!!) I'm stuck here just like everyone else.
Gould's expertise at SLB was HR. If it is Gould he will only be brought in to shed employees quickly and prepare the company for a sale at best price for shareholders. That's why BG hired him and that's the only reason OXY would bring him in.
Big if true
If the retirement age is still 68 like it was for SC then that's definitely "a most credible source" telling you a 73 year old AG is going to be the next CEO.
Any chance your "most credible source" can divulge this week's Power Ball numbers?
That's probably going down at the next BOD meeting as well.
Gotta make that next WB payment.
@1lyd+14x3dJUC And that's how you end up with VH or another incompetent clown. Just cashing in the paycheck.
Steve Chazen left the CEO position because he hit the mandatory retirement age of 68.
Was that rule changed?
Andrew Gould is 73, so it might not even be a possible for him to become CEO.
Pay me $4.61MM per year and I'll put up with any kind of sh!t Icahn or others want to dole out. Not a problem.
If VH leaves, that is showing her eh? Really? Cuz last I checked, SHE STILL WALKS AWAY A MILLIONAIRE and we get NOTHING. At this point, I really don’t care anymore. I’m over whelmed with stress and my managers don’t make it any better. All they tend to do is micro manage because they really don’t, seriously, have anything to do.
@1txa+14x3dJUC Who would touch Oxy with a ten foot pole? Lets not act like this is a high demand position with Carl Icahn breathing down your neck, 50 billion in debt and Warren Buffet's dividend noose around your neck.
Oxy is the Cleveland Browns and VH is Freddie Kitchens. Not a whole lot of room to drop from amateur hour there.
Let's be honest. At this point, Gould is the best person Oxy could hope to attract to be CEO. Anyone of any caliber would be running far from this absolute catastrophe which VH has created.
I think most would agree that A Gould is not the answer. Employees are just so fed up under Vicki that they would rather risk being laid off under A Gould and have VH answer for her screwups than keep the status quo.
I have no idea if this rumor is true or not, but I do find it interesting that Gould was Chairman of the BOD at BG Group when they were acquired by Shell and he was on the BOD at Aramco until he resigned just one month ago.
OXY does NOT need a service company person to the the CEO to right the ship. Gould is the LAST qualified person to be CEO.
If this is called caring, then I would hate to see what it's like if VH didn't care. Let's see:
- Ignore the well being of all shareholders and her own employees and make one of the most ridiculous and asinine deals in corporate history.
- Grant bonuses and raises to the close circle who had big parts in making the horrible acquisition.
- Promise to sell assets, but then fail to do so out of stubbornness when offered what would now be absolutely amazing prices.
- Make claims that the dividend is sacred, s—ering in many employees to keep the stock for the dividend, then cut it drastically at the first sign of trouble.
- Implement a poison pill which prevents investors from purchasing lots of shares just to hold on to as much power as possible (hint: when somebody wants to buy lots of shares, prices tend to go up which benefits other investors).
- Make a deal with an activist investor just to secure your job, and not structuring a deal (and quitting) for the betterment of the company and employees.
- Cutting salaries of all Oxy employees by 30%, without having the backbone to deliver the message yourself.
- Never ONCE admitting that she made a mistake or saying she's sorry for what she's done to all of us.
Wow, she sure does care! I'm so thankful now. Even though my retirement is now ruined, I'll probably lose my house, and have to get a job at HEB stocking groceries until I'm over 70, all through her actions, I'm so thankful she cares about me. Meanwhile, she'll ride off into the sunset with many millions for losing $55 Billion in shareholder and employee value, ruining many of our lives in the process. Yep, she cares.
lol - I keep hearing about how much VH "cares" about people. I have yet to see it. I'm sure Gould is a lousy s-head, but I will take whatever happens just as long as VH is booted out. If you are worried about getting laid off once he takes over, just get busy looking for another job. Oxy's time is short anyway. It will not make it through 2021.
Watch what you wish for. VH cares about the people and the company, a newcomer will care about neither.
If so he probably has a service company mentality and will cut jobs left and right with minimal severance. Just look at what Schlumberger and Haliburton types do in tough times. I worked for a company where the ex-HR VP was a Schlumberger HR VP. First thing she did after a few months was start voluntary and then layoffs. She did the same at the next oil company, Just go read some of the Marathon post from a couple of years ago. Gould was CEO of Schlumberger from 2003-2011. The HR VP came to our company after he left in 2011. I would say for employees to keep searching for an oil man or woman, but not a service company person.
Ex-SLB failure Andrew Gould?
Even if the rumor is true, it will have zero positive impact on Oxy’s future.
Another failure
Man, I hope so. Get rid of the VH scum.
