Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

This site not so misleading after all. This site gives management a headache.

In meetings and internal communique’s you are asked to ignore all social media posts as lame and misleading.

After watching this board for a while now, I think its not a matter of misleading but rather there’s a concern that this site may insight questions from the employees. Out of all of the complaining, guessing, forecasting and warnings….I’d say that the posts are about 75% true.

You’ll get a heads up on who’s leaving, what’s merging, what’s being trimmed, etc….and for the most part it happens. I’m positive HR and Citi legal are tasked with combing through these posts everyday.

I'll believe this site over anything our upper management has to say.

Did anyone else get the "What's your opinion of the Citi Brand ?" Survey email ? LOL ! Citi only needs to read this entire website, www.thelayoff.com to get free and honest answers. But then that's Not what Citi wants to hear. Citi wants to be delusional and in denial, live in the Drvg Addict LSD CitiBubble that tells Citi how wonderful and perfect Citi is ! NOT !!!

That’s both funny and true. I’ve noticed that on thelayoff.com.
There are those that troll the post for nothing more than to point out punctuation or misspelled words and just relentlessly hammer away at only that. I guess it’s an attempt to distract from the ideal, concern or point being made. In my mind once they do that they pat themselves on the back for a job well done that they’ve made a difference.

Its Thesaurus Man!!! A dictionary in one hand and a thesaurus in another, just lurking in the shadows quick to point out any poor grammar, misplaced comma or wrongly used word. Anything they can to distract from the point being made all the while pushing up his glasses while straightening out their pocket protector. After all, that’s all he has.

I don't think this site is giving any headache to them. If citi would have been in bad place or any such would Ti and Vi joined?

Completely agree. The misspelling of one word totally negates the message of the post.
Because of the misspelling, it has no merit.

Who on earth would conclude that taking YEARS to reduce staff numbers is a good idea for the business? Anyone with any sense would get it done quickly. This is why Citi will never recover.

Citi is way beyond repair. Lame Jane has done way too much damage to Citi for it to recover. The company is deteriorating from the inside out. Employee morale is at an all time low. Citi has always used departmental meetings and town halls to control their staff but they’re no longer effective. It’s become an environment of save yourself from inadequacies, micromanagement, and control. The competition is sitting on the sidelines waiting to grab each piece of the business as it’s sold for pennies on the dollar while Lame Jane walks away with millions. Sad state of affairs for Citi. Glad for those who got laid off, sorry for those who remain and wonder what’s next. Citi’s internal collapse is apparent.

While they are monitoring the site, they should take the feedback and work to remediate the challenges raised.

Internal communications and escalation channels must be ineffective if employees are leveraging a random website to vent.
