Mainframe Software Division on Performance Plan

Most, if not all of Mainframe is on a performance plan. It doesn’t matter how you look at it, the quarterly goals broken into 30/60/90 for each quarter only confirms the insecurities of management.
Goal setting with Don was a waste. Most managers are confused and push emails to their teams with the hope they decode the message and what needs to be done.
I did not expect this after four years of being acquired. VMW is creating a toxic environment in this division.

Any updates with the fact that we passed midyear appraisals?

like someone was saying, 2023 is the start of the bloodletting in Mainframe. the setups are already in play. just listen carefully to the comments and nuances the "leadership" team makes as the year unfolds. mid year reviews will be ugly. ITS HAPPENING....

There's a reason the 4 year grants stopped in 2023. Octane can only raise prices so much. Mainframe won't escape a squeeze.

More 3s. Less bonus, no RSUs next year.

mainframe people are certainly rest and vest... market talent pool has nobody to back fill their roles if they leave... so they know they can coast to easy retirement with little push on performance... doing just as little as possible.

Now the OP has to do a little work this next quarter... cry me a river boomer

I heard months ago there was going to be an increase in 3’s but it wasn’t order of magnitude…maybe a few percentage points, but that’s it…

3’s will steadily increase no doubt, why would anyone be surprised? Is your head in the sand? This has been expected for at least a year and has nothing to do with VMW, OP is smoking crack or a no-op…

@1lbd+1jm7YV1O They were, but that is starting to slow down. It was inevitable. There market overall is shrinking. There is no organic growth. It was just price increases and competitive replacements. You can only keep that going so long. So soon it will be back the the old CA way. Cut, cut, and cut, so that you keep that profit growing, while the business actually shrinks.

I thought mainframe was still growing with that insane margin. Are they now cutting and/or increasing R3s?
