Is that right? Would this be the same transformation that literally drove hundreds of customers away? Would this be the same transformation that had us ring up any override as a “bluelight special” override code so we wouldn’t be constantly belittled on the conference calls for not having enough blue lights when we were lucky to hit $8,000 in sales for the day. Or how about the carts upon carts of merchandise pushed out the doors daily and the d–g needles we found on the bottom shelf in toys or the condom pressed between towels in home fashions. Maybe it’s the human waste that was spread all over the walls, sink, hand dryer in the bathroom. Or how about the feet upon feet of empty counters that will filled with totes, toilet paper, anything to make it look like we were a real store. Oh wait maybe it’s the van that drove through our roll up door in receiving 3 months before we closed the the public. Ya it’s a transformation alright. I spent the better part of 12 years trying to make Kmart work, so DONT tell me I haven’t been in the trenches trying. Now there isn’t a Kmart for several hundred miles, yep a real transformation you got there!

Seems like a lot of you don't understand how transformations work. Perhaps you should get back to the stockrooms and leave the business decisions to the professionals?

I blame Pier One for this. Their own fault. These people were proven failures at turnarounds and transformations, yet the got hired at high salaries anyway. A guy off the street was a better risk because he is a proven failure with a bad track record.

Those banners where a b**** to put up!! Anyone remember the freebie Saturday at Kmart where were were sent popcorn, cotton candy, stickers, etc to give “members”... they called it “making shopping fun again” the guy in charge of pier one was responsible for all of these dumb campaigns at Kmart, wasting so much $ and bringing in NO traffic.

This from the same guy who bright Kmart #life is ridiculously awesome 🙄. Oh and don’t forgot the boxes upon boxes of associate t-shirts that sat in the back with all those “fun” sayings. Should be little wonder that pier one is failing!

Two hundred plus stores closing and a 40% reduction in head office and field support IS a conflagration. Get a grip Anonymous.

Conflagration: an extensive fire which destroys a great deal of land or property.

With an inextensible definition, the OP has lost all credibility with this post.
