it is year end, the delay is ok considering it is hard to get new jobs towards year end Christmas who is interested to interview you during holiday period.
Which is why people started looking after the announcement and didn't until last minute, right ? RIGHT ?
I mean it is kinda common sense that when you wait for layoffs, in any company, to look for a new job, you don't have the current market as competition but also the guys that got laid off alongside you.
But everybody knows it so I am sure everybody is prepared by now ... Because anything else would be stupid.

As someone who will be taking a well deserved break instead of applying for the next role I'm quite happy for them to take as long as they want... more paid vacation time for me
