Being an advocate, basically means that you would stand up for the techs and get them what they need. So even though he was making fun of you, he still did mention that guys need things to keep them safe. So the subject never changed, and at the end of the day, getting gear and being an advocate to get gear for the guys are the same. It's just a shame that once again, your ego got the best of you. If you're a good supervisor, you wouldn't be on here defending yourself anyway. If my supervisor is doing what he's supposed to be doing, then most, if not all guys are behind him. If you're feeling insecure, maybe like the original guy posted, you should grow some balls and tell upper management they need to get techs safety gear. But again, we know where this will land. You will come back and say this post is changing the subject and blah blah blah. It's a never ending cycle of things that never get done.

I’d love to see a supervisor enter a house right now. This really shows us how we are just numbers and completely replaceable. If they cared they would halt the bs work. They might take a stand for you as a tech. It’s all about everyone making a dollar till someone dies. Then it will be about how it was the techs fault for entering the home where the person unknowingly had it. If this company really cared it would be outside work only. If the problem can’t be fixed from the outside you need a certified technician to enter the home in the proper ppe. But hey who am I? Just a dumb tech that can’t think? Oh no wait I’m just a number. FACTS!
No point in arguing with you. Your head is filled with corporate garbage. It's not about me vs you. It's about you getting things done and helping. But we understand that you can't help because you have no power to help. Show us some ability to talk to the higher ups, that can make some decisions, and get what's needed for the guys. Sups love using that tired line. It's amazing how a pay bump and a tiny bit of authority makes you into what you are. Just another Shill. We are all living in scary times and most will recover, while some won't, and we'll have to live with that.
